Lunch service for Marsala Dosa was quick and a step back in time. Cauliflower side dish was really delicious. Potato masala was served in the dosa and was a big soggy so maybe not so fresh

Stunning lunch - returned a few days later for a second go! Really tasty food, pleasant staff and efficient service. The restaurant wasn’t busy when I visited but I was pleased I gave it a go.
A member of staff at our hotel recommended this place; she was either playing a joke on us or she actually likes low quality food. Oh my goodness, where to begin? Our waiter, who never cracked a smile and made us feel as welcome a...bad smell in an lift and only half-listened to our order (hence we didn’t receive desserts, for which we were grateful in the end!). I had onion bhaji, my husband had banana bhaji. The onion ones were bland and the banana ones tasted NOTHING like banana and had off-putting, inedible stringy bits in. Apparently they use a different type of banana. They were both served with 2 sauces/dips neither of us liked so left them. For main I chose a vegetable biryani which came with 2 thin curries, cabbage, poppadom, chapati, a pot of of thin sweet milky stuff with semolina floating in it, a type of coleslaw (in yoghurt base?) described on the menu as ‘pickles’ and a large pile of spiced rice. I ate the dhal, poppadom, chapati and some of cabbage and the rice, only because I was hungry. My husband didn’t order a main meal (a lucky choice!).. As mentioned, we didn’t receive the desserts but by that time we didn’t want them anyway as we had experienced enough of the ‘cuisine’. We were billed for 2 bhajis each instead of 1 each but they were cheap so we didn’t quibble, preferring to escape asap. Another charmless (female) member of staff at the checkout til took our money, not once stopping her telephone conversation or acknowledging us in any way. What a way to make the customer feel welcome! So rude. This restaurant certainly seems popular with the locals so I guess it’s a matter of what your used to. I guess the problem was that we are used to Indian cuisine UK-style, where the food is made differently (no watery curries there!) and we have never had a bad meal in a UK Indian restaurant or takeaway. Our food at the Kamala was truly the worst we have ever had. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Note for the Komala Villas management- send your staff to an intensive customer care course, they are in desperate need of it!More
Amazing food. We had vegetarian South Indian food which was amazing and really tasty. The Ginger and masala tea is amazing and it really refreshed us and clear our whole day tiredness
Komala Villa, Little India: All hail the dosai meal which fits the bill for those with eyes bigger than the stomach,. One serving serves 2 unless you haven’t eaten for days. There are 2 levels but quick to go Dosai meals are on the first...floor and the massive ones are upstairs. This place gets packed with tourists so make your pilgrimage here off peak hours. #eatstylishtravelstylishMore
Slightly pricier “restaurant” Indian food at the heart of Little India Singapore. Service is a little cool, it might take a while for the waiters to notice you, but once your order is placed they get it served very quickly. Not just in my case...but for all the tables around me. Food is superb. I had a vegetable biryani set and it was spicy and full of rich, oh so fragrant flavours. Very generous serving too—I couldn’t finish everything. The ambience is, well, “different,” even to a Singaporean like me. Stepping in, you’d feel more like you’re in neighbouring countries than in Singapore. Sitting beside the window on the upper floor is particularly enjoyable. Note: I think the rice sets are only served on the upper floor. The steps up are a little steep and narrow but not unmanageable.More
But for below reason the star must be 4 star & I had wantedly starred low…. The meals was very good but the quantity of curries Sambar Rasam Kara Kozhambu served so much so much more that one can’t have all - don’t like even...a grain of food being wasted - so please serve like Indian style to bring empty green leaf plate and serve only what ever required and…. and only how much required. Requesting the management to take this decision immediately please and save Tons of food being wasted every month… month after months. Again went in the evening for a quick dinner and my goodness two pieces Idlies and so much Qty of chutney and sambar - again not to waste had to eat all forcefully. I even told this at the the cash collection counter to kindly take up this.More
Visited this as was highly recommended by a friend but the experience was not worth a try. The taste is very average, low on ambience, and prices are not so competitive. The bhature were too deep fried, the yogurt in dahi vada was sour and...the sambhar was way too thick. Our first and last visit.More
Excellent Food Ko South Indian food also dosa butter, Naan and butter chicken also very good okay super
Amazing Chole Bature and Rava Dosa. Good quality is good and reasonable on pocket. Thankyou Komala Villas.
Our go to place to eat authentic South Indian meal. We frequent this place often for the yummy idli, dosa and filter coffee. Always a waiting line but it moves very fast. Service is also very fast.
had a breakfast with this place. it's cheap and taste was amazing. i had a rawa dosa, vada and coffee. one of the best.
Moderately priced food, wallet friendly. Food could have been better, but no complaints. Our favourite is the unlimited vegetarian thali at sgd 9. We have paid sgd 6.50 for the same when we landed in Singapore. The price with inflation has increased but the quality...of food has been maintained.More
Very simple dining but flavoursome food. I took the basic rice dish with extra bread. It was almost too much. Vegetarian food with subtle flavours. I ordered an iced tea that was strong, with milk and very sweet. It reminded me of getting a sip...of my grandma's tea as a child (early 60s!) but cold. The food was excellent value for money and there was a mix of clients there from locals to tourists.More
The cahier guy started to grumble when there was some issue with the ordering of food! He is the one down there most of the time! Stressed maybe but cannot show anger towards the customer.
