After a backpacking trip in Peru, I was keen to indulge in some high end cuisine in Santiago. As I was travelling alone, I was initially reluctant to book Peumayen Ancestral Food - however, I'm so glad I did. Let me explain why. First of all, I was made to feel extremely welcome as a solo traveller. Secondly and most... More

We loved it! It was a very special experience in a very good price (53.000 including a bottle of wine and tip). All of our waiters were very very friendly and polite and spoke perfect English (and French). The restaurant is in the amazing neighborhood of Bella vista, very well situated. The food was really unique, unlike anything we had... More

Top meal. Great service, knowledgeable hosts, well thought out meal and complimentary decor. Food is exiting and well presented, though slightly lacking on the technical side in some areas (rabbit was very tough, Horse Ham salad could have done with balancing ingredients / portion control) but all in it was very good. Didn't really drink save for one glass of... More

A wonderful culinary experience! From the beautiful, indigenous décor to the warm atmosphere to the welcoming, knowledgeable staff to the most delicious and creative foods - everything made for an excellent evening! The serving team explained the concept and inspiration behind the ancestral 'inspired' cuisine and the food was divine...incredibly delicious and beautifully presented. If you're looking for a unique,... More

Delicious, unusual food; beautiful presentation; great ambiance & service and reasonable prices. Some of the most delish sweetbreads I've eaten! What's not to like?

My foodie wife and I ate here for dinner. She enjoyed it immensely. I liked it, but was not "blown away" by it. This is likely due to my non-adventurous nature when it comes to food. I would suggest to true foodies that this is a must try kind of place and for others it should be down in the... More

Excellent food that is presented superbly. The waiters were very attentive and explained the concept and details of the menu clearly. The menu is more of a tasting experience based on the different cuisines from around Chile. Its best to have an open mind and try everything. The food is presented very well and as it is given to you... More

The Peumayen in Bellavista is an experience that should not be missed when visiting the vibrant Chilean Capital. The Restaurant is cooking and presenting their dishes in the traditional Chilean way, which makes for a culturally and culinary spectacular. While I did very much enjoy the food, was it not the taste that stuck with me most, but the incredibly... More
