If you can navigate the web page, you can book a tour of the Moneda Palace. You need to book at least one week in advance. The tour lasts about an hour, and visits most of the formal rooms on the ground floor. Our guide...spoke very good English. Ithe tour provided some very interesting history of both Chile, and the Palace itself. Well worth the time.More

The exhibition center has held many exhibits, from Japanese Samurai to Children art and now Whales. The history of man's relationship with whales is explored and documented. Whalesong can be heard and their anatomy and lifestyle studied, the best place to take a smart child.

For starters, the entry is free for most part of the exhibition, I think it varies depending on the type of exhibitions being held but when we visited it was 10am and we were recommended to start from the bottom up, (starting with the Whale...exhibition- that after 12:00 would require a fee). The museum is very organized and the staff is friendly. If you have a bag/backpack with you- you are told to leave them in the lockers before entering the exhibition rooms. When I visited, there were groups of people that had come with history saavy guides so, I wandered their way every now and then to listen and learn. Eating options weren't that great so, I'd recommend heading elsewhere to have a meal/coffee.More

Our previous visit here was to view a Picasso showing. This was was not quite as elaborate or engaging but their exhibitions always have lovely introspections. El M8to d3 Roma was wonderful and spent some time at the Schaumburg exhibit. If you are Hungary there...are several restaurants down here that you just might find accommodating as do many local folk. The sculpture at the entrance is very engaging and suggestive.More

In the underground of the plaza besides the La Moneda Palace, there is treasure hidden, a little museum: Centro Cultural La Moneda. And the main exposition is Rome. Very good exposition, it showcases sculptures, wall art and pottery from various periods of Rome, from the...Reign too late Empire. The main star is the Laoconte. The selection is amazing.More

Very close to historic Palacio La Moneda itself, this is a place to visit. Actually exhibiting a very complete Picasso retrospective and with Christmas markets in this time of the year is a very impressive building, there are many handcraft and design shops and a...couple of very good restaurants. Definitely recommended.More

A bit pricey. Buy delicious. Main course must be ordered separately from the sides. Good quiet spot.

This is a quite good restaurant, I was expecting it to have more complete options, but you basically have to select all individual options you want. Food is great, a bit price though. Good option for a business meeting with reserved and quite areas. Can...easily hold groups of around 15 people (I would check first for bigger groups). Acessible by wheelchairs with no problem.More

We arranged in advance for a tour of the palace in English. Only four people total on our tour with an excellent guide who answered our questions. Except for a short visit to the stop of a stairway to see a memorial for those killed...in the coup, we stayed on the ground floor. This was where Chilean presidents lived and worked. The building has been reconfigured and added on many times. Very interesting, especially if you have studied the history. There are two large courtyards and we visited several rooms used for ceremonial functions. Also, the chapel.More

Decent museum! There was a cultural exhibit on the Easter Islands (a territory of Chile) when we went back in 2009. We really enjoyed it and this was a pretty decent place for the exhibition ... the coffeeshop is also quite welcoming with some decent...café fare!More

I usually stop at this place every time I go to Santiago. Nice coffee/restaurant places, exhibitions and other atractions. An ideal stop before or after visiting the nearby civic center. Too bad they do not have lemon pie, but my endocrine pancreas is grateful for...that too!More

I visited La Moneda during the time Michelle Bachelet was President and entered the courtyard of La Moneda. Piñera will not let anyone outside his entourage enter. It was lovely to walk about inside. The underground Cultural centre is open at all times with changing...exhibits and permanent Violeta Parra exhibit.More
