The presentation of food and service were great, but taste-wise it was something forgettable and non-impressive. We opted for a degustation menu which was composed out of many dishes (don`t recall the exact amount, but there were a lot of them coming one after another). I was full after the 5th, my husband bravely lasted even the 3 last deserts.... More

We ordered the 6 course tasting menu. With a few extras thrown in, it seemed like 8 courses. The food was wonderful and the price of US$70 per person was reasonable for this type of meal. One downside was that we were alone in the restaurant. It opens at 7:30 and that was the time of our reservation. It was... More

We had really been looking forward to this meal, but I found mussels in my appetizer to be inedible and same for my entree. We experienced many other outstanding meals in our two week visit, I would skip this one.

Even with an expert Spanish speaker translating the individual words on the menu, it wasn't always immediately clear what the food was going to be - but that really didn't matter as the presentation and the taste made up for it.

We had the nine course tasting menu with wine pairings and had a truly memorable meal at Sukalde! We would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody who enjoys food and new experiences! The wine pairings were outstanding!

Sukalde came highly recommended as among the best in Santiago de Chile. It was our first night out in the city in pourIng rain. Great table, choice of either 6 course tasting menu or "9 curse casting menu" whatever that means. Maybe lost in translation. So we went with the 9. With the exception if the amuse bouche the courses... More

I don´t know about you, but I like to eat food that looks like food with products that haven´t been chemically created. Sadly there are so many chefs that invent things that look great but don´t taste great. As someone once told me, "If you want to look at food, eat a postcard!" The young and talented chef, Matias Palomo,... More

We had read of this restaurant in the New York Times. It was described as being very avant garde molecular cuisine, like El Bulli, where the chef trained, or Alinea in Chicago. Actually, the food was pretty mainstream, but exquisite. We got into a conversation with the chef (the restaurant was distressingly devoid of clientele) and he said he just... More

Matias the Chef is a genius. He is very pleasant, he cooks with a lot of creativity and the result is absolutely a real pleasure. We had last night wonderful moments with him, in this very charming house full of ideas of decoration, what we had in our plates was delicious. Wonderful moments you never forget. I will surely go... This chef studied at El Bulli. Though it was the most sophisticated dinner I've had yet in South America (with the price tag to match), but compared to New York City prices, it was really a steal. There's nowhere else in Santiago to compare this place to, and it's really pretty good. Far more hits than misses, in my opinion.... More
