We decided to skip the spartan breakfast at our hotel and went out to this place instead. Hands down the best food we ate in Santiago. Granted it was only breakfast- and I hade the toast with smashed avocado and salt- and a great coffee and fresh OJ- but still- after so many food disappointments in Santiago it was refreshing... First day in Santiago a bit jet lagged breakfast for hostel de la Barra is served at this small cafe next door. One English speaking waitress and we were sorted with toast and scrambled eggs great coffee and exquisite cherimoya juice. Great start for the day

We stopped for lunch at this cute place and were so happy we did -- the sandwiches and desserts were delicious, the service was friendly and attentive, and the price was right. I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a very fancy lunch or as your only meal in Santiago, but it is definitely worthwhile for a mid-day break... More

It is located next to Hostal de La Barra, nice place to have breakfast. Good coffee, fresh food and nice waitresses.

good place for coffee (even though some of the reviews on here suggest the contrary). friendly staff. basic but fine breakfast. better than the cafes on the opposite side of the same street.

To be honest, some times we make mistakes and when we do, people tend to write bad reviews more often because they were dissapointed. e really thank you for taking the time to write a good one. More

We want to Cafe de la Barra for brunch after arriving in Santiago let the night before. It is a relatively cheap and cheerful cafe, recommended by Lonely Planet. It is a good recommendation too. My brunch sandwich was very tasty, and the coffee was good. My wife had an Italian style hot chocolate - the best she has had... More

I passed many times in front of this cafe without stoping till yesterday while I am very familiar with the Lastarria area. Yesterday, we finally stopped. Great atmosphere and deco. the chirimoya juice and the vienese coffee were great. The service was quite slow, it took approx. 10 minutes to be served.

I had the pumpkin gnocci with arugula and blue cheese. I was able to feel every taste of the dish thanks to the great wine recomendation. If... More

The place is nice, has good music and good looking deserts. I had a 'cortado doble' but the coffee tasted really bad. They have also tea, but i didn't try it.

The coffee tasted like old newspaper with burned tire. The Manjar was ok, te media luna was really small. You can skip this place!
