Recommended as their Ecaudorian specialities and fruit juices are delicious. The restaurant is upstairs from the ice cream parlour.

Heladería San Agustín is one of the Iconic places in Downtown Quito. You'll learn about some of the "Quiteños" culture, slang, and gastronomy. Food is nice and not very expensive (relative to international standards)

How's your Spanish? No bueno? Then if you really want to go here, you have one option: take a look inside. If you see an older fellow with a moustache running frentically about the place "serving" people, forget it. He will take over your table even if someone else tries to serve you, and if you ask for help with... More

I have been customer for 30 years. “Heladería San Agustín” is well located and offers for more than 150 years traditional local Ecuadorian dishes. San Agustín is a place where many locals go with their families to eat. In the last years, it has become also popular among tourists. You will find the most popular Ecuadorian dishes. Staff is gentle... More

We had a wonderful meal of goat stew in this charming restaurant -- available with or without bones! excellent sides of potatoes and avocado. Ask for a table upstairs by the window.

This charming little cafe located just one block north of Plaza Grande (get off the trolley line headed south from Mariscal/parque Ejito combines all of the elements: old world charm, with all of its colonial art, intimacy and grace, with its flowered balconies and welcoming staff, excellent traditional Ecuadorian food at modest prices, a a super choice of the best... We went here for lunch and the food was excellent. Everything appeared to be authentic food with very large portions. It started to get busy with locals after 1-1:30, so arrive before then if you can. I believe we were the only tourists in the restaurant. The main dishes were around $10 each. There was an English menu available, but... More

Really good Ecuadorian lunch in authentic setting in the Old Town. Packed with locals so get in before 1:30 or so. Good fast service and really tasty food. We had the arroz marinara and the lamb stew and both were excellent! We were too stuffed for ice cream but it did look really good! Highly recommended

This busy lunchtime restaurant is usually packed with locals and it is best to reserve a table. And not without good reason. It is located in the heart of the old Quito town. The food and service was impeccable by any standard but best of all was the unusual décor. We sat at the first floor level and were surrounded... More

As Americans wandering around Quito, we were lucky to find this quaint restaurant where the staff managed to understand our limited Spanish and served us excellent food. The seafood and rice dish that I had was plentiful and very tasty. Others in our party of 6 were also pleased. We were being careful in Ecuador not to drink tap water... More
