A pleasant surprise in central, downtown Quito. A nice menu of middle eastern food that is nicely presented and tasty. The owner was personally attentive, and made sure that the meal was to our satisfaction. A nice dining experience.

I've travelled in Lebanon and this is the real deal - fresh, light, and delicious. And the service is excellent, attentive and bilingual, although on the night I visited they clearly needed another waiter on duty. As others have mentioned, it's expensive by South American standards, but well worth it as a change from the local $4 cena. +1 for... More

One of my favorite restaurants in the city, serving authentic Lebanese food made of fresh ingredients and reasonably priced. The owner is very attentive and personally welcomes all his customers, taking time to explain and recommend dishes. It´s fun to go in a small group of 4-6 people, that way you can order and try several dishes. I personally love... More

We went there twice. The decor, food & service was excellent. It is a bit expensive but worth every bit. I highly recommend it.

I lived in the Middle East for two years. I so missed the food until yesterday. Baalbek is wonderful. The falafel is terrific-best or maybe better than I had in Cairo. Babaganoush Is to die for. Don't miss finishing the meal with cardamom coffee. Serv ice was excellent and entire staff very friendly. This is my new best place to... More

Went there for dinner with my girlfriend. Although the price relative to Quito restaurants is on the pricey side, having this same meal in NYC would be 2-3x the price. Babaganush was great to add to everything, Falafel was absolutely amazing, especially with the tahini sauce (they tasted a little like chicken mcnuggets!). Mansafh was also good. The dessert (Burma)... More

Yes, portions are small, and the place is pricey. On the other hand, there are very few arab restaurants in Quito. And at Baalbek they have authentic, quality food. The owner may serve your table and give you advice. Food presentation and atmosphere are very good. Here's a tip if you're hungry: share plates, and/or add rice to your main... More

I ordered a falafel sandwich, went home, found out how tiny it was and just assumed they maybe gave me the wrong thing (falafel only). I went back to ask and they assured me it´s the right order. Tiny, tiny sandwich with only a little to-go bowl of sauce. I´ve had falafel many times more delicious than that at regular... More
