Mama Clorinda came highly recommended for local Ecuadorian food. The food was good but not the experience I anticipated.

Had a great meal at this restaurant. Prices are a little high for local food but everything we had was delicious. My wife had some shrimp ceviche and a tamale. I had a local plate with steak, potato pancakes stuffed with cheese and some assorted...More

The restaurant is located just off the square and serves Equatorian cuisine. The service was reasonably fast and the quality of the food was good and not expensive.

If you are looking for a quiet dinner spot on the noisy Plaza Foch, Mama Clorinda would be s good choice. However, this restaurant pretends to be a classy restaurant but isn’t. I ordered the low more beef and it tasted much more like ordinary...More

Nice place, just the Cuy is not great - I went there to test the Cuy (roasted guinea pig) USD 17,62 + USD 2.99 a beer The Cuy's skin was not roasted enough, not crispy, and offered a soft leather texture - not eatable. As...More

A group of us visited at the end of our tour. Things seemed to start OK with orders taken and drinks delivered. However the food was very disappointing. The empanadas were soggy and the cheese awful. I had the vegetarian spaghetti which was pretty tasteless...More

We had dinner at Mama that was recommended by a local touristic guide. We were told to try the potato soup, which is a very typical food in Ecuador. It was very good, although it was a simple dish. We also had chicken with vegetables...More

A great choice over Equatorian food. I took the baby pig and was not disappointed. Service was nice and quick. Maybe just a bit overpriced for Equator?

Staff is ok. Food is less than standard. Filetsteak was chewy. Set menu was standard Ecuadorian. Should be around $3 in a restaurant for locals.

I ordered the 1/2 coy which was ok but unless you want to eat pig skin with little to no meat, I suggest you try something else. The hot sauce that comes wth the complimentary popcorn was delicious.

Ecuadorian cuisine restaurant just off Plaza Foch serves tasty national specialties . Try the llapingachos (fried pancakes of mashed potatoes with cheese) with steak or, for the adventurous, cuy (guinea pig). Mama Clorinda's as the place to have traditional Ecuadorian food.
