I had chicken with Ecuadorian chocolate sauce to it. We also got empanadas for starters, and they were great. Even the lemonade was delicious! Service great as well.

Excellent restaurant in a lovely hotel, every detail is great, delicious amuse bouche and bread. Amazing food and service, beautiful location across the street from San Francisco. Reasonable price for the quality. Highly recommended.

We entered the restaurant at 8pm. By 8:15 I had to flag the maitre d' to try to order a cocktail and give a food and wine order. My martini finally arrived about 10 minutes later, closely followed by the appetizers we'd ordered. Before we had finished the appetizers the main courses arrived and were placed in available spots on... More

We took the 3 and 4 courses menu on New Year's Eve along with an Argentinean wine. We were frankly disappointed by the chef performance although dîner was good but nothing exceptional as we expected from one of the best addresses in Quito at new year.

We found this place on trip advisor and love it. If you are used to excellent boutique hotels around the world, you'll be very happy. The staff is friendly, helpful and courteous. The location is in the old city and there's lots to do here and all around the town. Room 112 has a great nighttime view and a balcony... More

I went with some of my best cousins for tea, coffee and a selection of their pastries. Totally worth!!! This is one of the fanciest hotels in South America, but the ambience and the staff are so warm, they make you feel very much at home. For this one you need to tell in advance. We just walked in, while... More

If you're not in the mood for a full on dining experience, this might not be for you. Definitely a "date night" kind of place. Good wine selection, excellent menu. There is a menu of simpler fare like pasta, if that's what you fancy.

The room was nice good for conversation but the food and service was not up to the standards you would expect for such an establishment

A nicely decorated restaurant, particularly for breakfast and lunch but not so sure about the atmosphere for dinner, not that we had dinner here so that is perhaps a bit unfair. As we were staying in the hotel we had breakfast there twice and lunch once. The service is excellent. We didn’t want a large lunch so ordered Spaghetti Bolognese... More

Description
The menu at Casa Gangotena’s restaurant celebrates Ecuadorian cuisine

Along our gastronomic road the restaurant has matured it’s culinary proposal; arriving to what we currently offer in our restaurant’s menu. We firmly believe in our cuisine’s inheritance and roots; and in the techniques and knowledge that we have acquired during our evolution

We are so proud to offer flavors from the Highlands all the way to the Coast, focusing all our efforts into seasonings, infusions and spice mixes all made in our house. We present traditional Ecuadorian cuisine and we present it, in a refined and elegant way.

We dress our dining room with white tablecloths to enhance our culture, we make sure every single detail is taken care of so your dining experience is memorable..

Our main goal is to please the palate of our guests. We invite you to experience life and share with passion the experience of ecuadorian hospitality at Casa Gangotena. We express it with flavors, aromas and textures. "
