My husband and I were looking for a place to eat in Centro Historico and decided to go to Casa Gangotena. We called in advance and they told us that we could still have a place for lunch. We got there in about 15 minutes and proceeded to get in the hotel where the restaurant is located. And we were... More

We didn't stay at this hotel, however we had a birthday dinner. An excellent restaurant! Overlooking Plaza San Francisco, the heart of Quito’s Unesco-protected colonial Old Town. This is the prettiest part of the city.

Our tour group broke from our walking sightseeing of the many beautiful things to admire in Quito to have a catered lunch here. I cannot pass judgment on the hotel's accommodations, but at about $350-$600 a night I am sure they are commendable. The lobby is so elegant, and inviting for couples, groups and families to spend time chatting and... More

What can I say about one of the best 25 hotels in the world? My family and I went for the Café Quiteño. The flavors, the ambiance, the service, and the place themselves were perfect. We loved it! and the bill? Better than the Ritz in London. The chocolate reminded me of Angelina's in Paris. We went to try the... More

Casa del Alabado (museum with excellent gift shop) is nearby. A good plan is to visit the must-go museum then stop by Casa Gangotena for lunch and drinks afterward. The small bar is reminiscent of grand hotel bars in NYC (e.g., The Pierre) with outstanding service, top shelf selection of liquor and food. We started with a huge cup of... More

We went for having breakfast on fathers day. The place is awesome, old town in Quito is impressive. The food was really good, although there is not so much variety the quality and service was excellent. Try taking a taxi to go there because there is not much parking space.

If you come for one day or more in Quito, you have to visit (at least), or stay for lunch at Casa Gangotena. The place is astounding ! It has been recently renovated and reconverted into a 5* palace. We recently went with my family to try the restaurant, and we were honestly nicely surprised of the very good quality... More

Lovely private mansion turned into the most totally elegant restaurant. Food and service was perfect. Every room and patio was beautiful. Even the drapes were amazing.

Description
The menu at Casa Gangotena’s restaurant celebrates Ecuadorian cuisine

Along our gastronomic road the restaurant has matured it’s culinary proposal; arriving to what we currently offer in our restaurant’s menu. We firmly believe in our cuisine’s inheritance and roots; and in the techniques and knowledge that we have acquired during our evolution

We are so proud to offer flavors from the Highlands all the way to the Coast, focusing all our efforts into seasonings, infusions and spice mixes all made in our house. We present traditional Ecuadorian cuisine and we present it, in a refined and elegant way.

We dress our dining room with white tablecloths to enhance our culture, we make sure every single detail is taken care of so your dining experience is memorable..

Our main goal is to please the palate of our guests. We invite you to experience life and share with passion the experience of ecuadorian hospitality at Casa Gangotena. We express it with flavors, aromas and textures. "
