We were here for dinner and were not disappointed. Great service, good wine and delicious food. Location was close to our hotel and in the heart of the theater area in old town Quito!

We just visited Equador in January. We ended up in this restaurant when somewhat by accident. We had a lovely lunch, ordering from their tasting menu. It was the fanciest place we ate in Quito. The waiters were attentive, the food was wonderful.

We had a very good meal with solicitous service at this high-ceilinged restaurant on a quiet square at the edge of the old city. It is not inexpensive, but, we felt, worth the price. My sole objection was the very uncomfortable adjoining bar. Over-lit with...More

The entrance to the restaurant is certainly one of the more glamorous in the city. The wall is adorned with former glories all seemingly from 2010. The restaurant itself doesnt feel the most warm with dividers breaking up the room making it feel a lot...More

As a traveller from another continent we were open minded to the South America style of food & service food at this 20 feet high ceiling restaurant. Formal if you will or classic to the style of our server and local specialty food. Fresh ivory...More

This place has the worst service I have had in a long time. I should have known better when I came in at 8 oclock and there were four people. I waited for 10 minutes before somebody noticed I was there and seated me. I...More

A decent meal but I felt it was a bit overpriced and a bit too formal for my liking. Seemed to be full of tourists and not many locals.

This restaurant is quite elegant, nice decor, fresh roses at the table. The food was uneven. Starters were superb - shrimp ceviche offered with popcorn, a hearty quinoa soup. But we chose a main course which was not impressive - roast pork with sour sauce...More

Dining at Theatrum with its red curtains felt very regal. The food and wine fits this feeling and the service too was excellent.

Description
Our restaurant is located in Quito's Historical Center on the second floor of Sucre National Theater, Cultural Patrimony from the XIX century, an expression of renaissance classicism. In the entire second floor it is located the most important restaurant in Quito, THEATRUM Restaurant & Wine Bar that offers an extraordinary menu of the vanguard Mediterranean cuisine. One of our emblematic dishes is the Grilled tender octopus with mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, garlic tossed in pesto vinaigrette. Our classic Ecuadorian prawns on the grill with avocado mousse and tomato fondue.
