Very tasty food, chilled and sophisticated ambiance and excellent service. The prices are medium-high, but you get what you pay for!

Zigzag offers a wonderful fine dining experience. Peruvian food in general is very delicious but it can be very heavy and salty, especially in Arequipa for some reason. The food at Zigzag was refined, sophisticated and not overwhelmed with salt and spices so that you could actually taste the food. Also the decorations and the ambiance are very welcoming and... If you are staying in Arequipa, Zig Zag is a good choice for dining. Nothing extraordinary, but definitely good food. In particular, I would recommend the "trios" of roasted meat (beef, alpaca, pork or beef, alpaca, lamb ecc.)

I ordered the set vegetarian menu, as the rest of the menus were a little bit too pricey for me. The food was very good - the main of quinoa and potato gnocchi in Pesto was fantastic. The entree salad left a little to be desired however, it was a little bit plain. Dessert was also very good. I reccomend... More

The food was delicious, but it is very expensive. If you are happy to pay $70 soles for your meal (which is about the price we would pay at home for the same meal), then you should definitely visit Zig Zag. The service was fantastic, with the waiter taking her time to explain everything to us.

We stopped here prior to transfer to airport and wished we had given it more time as the food truly deserved attention. Fondue is very popular as is the stone-cooked meats. Everything is presented beautifully. Appetizers come in portion size for two or one. Frankly, either will serve as a main course as they are abundant. Ask for second floor... More

Although the food is very nice, it costs about 3 times as much as you would usually pay in Peru. If you're looking for a more fancy experience than normally, this is the one for you. However, you can find restaurants that charge way less and will give you equally delicious dishes, the only difference being the way the food... More

Good small restaurant with a small food menu. The salad was good and fresh, the cheese fondue (not my selection) was ok a little too heavy but I think that the addition of native potatoes to dip in the cheese casserole was a good touch. Somehow, I didn't feel as guilty to eat such a heavy food at night. Btw,... More

The Alpandina dishes offered by the Zig Zag Restaurant are the result of a creative culinary fusion deeply rooted in the mountains, where the sun endows foodstuffs with energy and balanced components. The dishes most representative of Alpandino gastronomy arise from a marvellous synthesis of unique time-hallowed ingredients from all over Peru, combined with ancient and modern culinary techniques from the Alps and the Andes. One of the results is our great speciality: Volcanic-Stone-Cooked Meats and Fish. This culinary concept was generated specially by the restaurant's proprietor and Chef, Michel Hediger from Switzerland. During the course of many years in Arequipa, Peru, he has developed an original gastronomic proposal which enables one to savour different kinds of food prepared in an exclusive, healthy and very natural style, so that the restaurant's customers might compare and enjoy the country's different flavours. Located in the Historic Centre of Arequipa, opposite the lovely Plaza San Francisco, the Zig Zag Restaurant, with its impressive cast iron staircase designed by the famous French architect Alexandre Gustave Eiffel, is a unique place to enjoy a gastronomic evening with a difference.
