As usual - looking for a trip advisor recommendation that google could not find and walked past here recognising the name (I had read the reviews previously and decided to avoid - but you cannot remember everything). Same criticism. What is the point of serving good food from a kitchen 10 feet away at best luke warm. They forgot the... More

our team went to this restaurant at the recommendation of our hotel and we found it to be the best restaurant in Cusco in our opinion. The dishes were plated beautifully and the food was delicious. We would all recommend this place to anyone wanting good food and great atmosphere.

We had dinner here on Saturday 2nd May...based on previous reviews, we were really looking forward to it. Perhaps it was just one of those nights- all restaurants will have them- but our dinner was just really, really poor... The good point first...the Quinoa Soup was really nice. But no better than the quinoa soup that every single restaurant in... More

Came here for lunch. The restaurant is on the second floor above some kind of artisanal shop but there's a small sign that points you in the right direction. Unfortunately I did not get to sit on the terrace because it was full (but I heard it's lovely), but I got to sit right in front of the kitchen where... More

The food and service here were excellent, and the prices were reasonable given the quality of food and service. My wife and I ate there the night before our trek to Machu Picchu. Our trekking guide told us not to eat at any restaurant that might get us sick. We had no stomach problems after eating here.

This one was our best meal in Cusco. A bit overprice for Cusco standards, but it was definitely worth the trouble. A great mix of Peruvian food with some Western influences. The drinks were also very good and they have a terrace view to die for.

Wow what an experience. My friend and I went here and we could go past having the Alpaca with mango chutney and yellow peppers. I would have to go as far as saying this was one of the best things I have ever eaten. Your mouth waters with every mouthful. We also had a beautiful bottle of Chilean red wine.... More

Our concierge recommended dining here. The service was great and the food was excellent. Best dish hands down was the chicken quesadilla - stuffed with chicken, cheese, salsa and spicy beans on the side - the tortilla is flour & quinoa - yum, kept stealing bites off my daughter! I was feeling the effects of the high altitude and the... More

Description
Our kitchen offers both tradtional and avant garde cuisine, always focusing on rediscovering age-old recipes that allow us to take yesterday's flavors to today's table. Our specialty is Criolle and Andean cuisine where we highlight the essence of this beautiful mix of varieties that provides us with an endless array of flavors and that each Peruvian carries in their veins. In appreciation for all products we utilize we allow ourselves to play with new flavors and sensations based on the immense diversity of native products available: aji (Peruvian chili pepper), distinct passion fruits, avocados, rice and corn varieties are some of our favorites to explore with. Slow cooking dishes and the high flames of our grill are our favorite preparation techniques to use here at Marcelo Batata.
