Ten of us had lunch there with Henry Cuellay, our local guide. The food was terrific. I had the trout soup. It was a rich broth with huge chuncks of fresh sweet trout. My wife had a huge, fresh salad with local veggies and fruit. The service was gracious and unhurried in an old Hacienda style location right in the... More

We ate breakfast and lunch here. We had a salad, a tamal, and a quinotto. I wasn't crazy about the tamal and the salad was nice but nothing to write home about. However, the quinotto (a quinoa risotto) was out of this world! Our waiter suggested we pair it with a white Chardonnay and it was exquisite! It had asparagus,... More

The chef's take on Peruvian "street food" was great, combining the sophistication of a well-run restaurant with the tastes of street life. The fish dishes were excellent, too! Can't speak of the beef, though others we met raved about it. The presentation of the dishes was beautiful. The service, especially Wilberth, was exceptional.

We visited the Tupay restaurant for dinner and enjoyed it. We arrived at 7:30pm when a live opera show started and the place was full. Unfortunately that lead to long delays in the service which was fortunately corrected due to the General Managers intervention. The food was really very good, I had the Suckling Pig, delicious and we had a... More

My sister and I decided to splurge on their opera night. Totally agree with several other reviews. Lovely setting, friendly and professional maitre'd, nice opera presentation. Food was overpriced, underseasoned and underwhelming. Huge disappointment!

Lovely setting, great opera, good service, nice ambiance, lighting and decoration. Ordered fish of the day and Uruguayan steak; fish was good, the steak was just a regular steak at NY prime price, side salad was good though. The complete disappointment came with the dessert: ordered the warm apple and pear, it was just that (apple a pear slices with... More

This was a beautiful setting to experience an excellent dinner with the added experience of enjoying beautiful opera music. The setting was top notch and the food was elegant and enjoyable. I had the fish and had the opportunity to try the chateaubriand which was prepared beautifully. This was a lovely way to finish a day in Cusco.

Went for dinner on the opera night. It was the perfect night. The location is beautiful - a converted old monastery refractory. The service was incredible - everyone was very friendly and kind. The food was delicious. The musicians and opera singers put on a great show without being too overbearing - I still felt we could chat and carry... More
