We were treated well as we were with a local guide so service was excellent. Food was pretty average for this culinary capital - we had stuffed avocado and garlic/egg soup - nothing off the charts but fine. If you are looking for fine cuisine, go elsewhere but for a quick lunch near plaza de armas it was fine.

The last time I ate here was lunch before my son and I went to Chinatown to catch the dragons for Chinese New Year...the experience was the same I had years ago...a charming historical ambiance filled with locals, mediocre food and absent-minded service. If you happen to be in the area, good to go to once for the experience, but... More

The food was excellent. The staff was friendly. It is located very conveniently in the historical center. Overall I would be happy to visit it again.

Sad when these type of legendary, historical restaurants rely on their fame and ignore food quality and customer service. On my second visit, we waited 15 minutes to get a menu while the waiters stood in the corner chatting. I waved several times and they avoided eye contact. When I finally called out, the waiter handed a menu to the... More

Went for lunch with my mum on our last day in Lima before heading home to the UK. Food was nice and tasty, freshly cooked. We didn't get anything to fancy but think you could try more daring foods on the menu like cows brain lol. Service was good with English & Spanish menus. Worth a visit if your in... More

A very nice place to be. You can imagine that a lot of years ago this looked exactly the same as today. The food and drinks are very good and the people who serve it speak English as well.

We stopped here on a tour for the historical significance. Otherwise, we might have just walked on past without noticing. Our tour guide said this is the oldest operating bar in Lima and located next to the presidential palace. Its been serving since the early 1900's so its claim to fame is not as old as you might think. We... More

The decor and atmosphere are definitely the best things of this place and the service and sangria were good but the food is average and the thing that bothered me the most is the cleanliness and hygiene level of the restrooms and kitchen...

Was taken to this great historic bar and restaurant after a morning of touring churches and the plaza de armes.I shared the "country ham" sandwich and had a bowl of the "diet" chicken soup which was excellent.

A popular place for Lima citizens. Traditional dishes and sandwiches in authentic Peruvian atmosphere. Tacu tacu and pisco sour are excellent choices.
