After a long walk along the Rambla we were looking for a cafe and were glad we found this place! Great selection of sandwiches plus cakes and pastries of all kinds, all in a pleasant environment with good service. Prices fairly high but not too bad for Uruguay, which is quite expensive in general!

I had the opportunity today to have breakfast and dinner at the Amaretto on 21 de Setiembre. Nothing fancy or extraordinary but well prepared, speedy enough service for Uruguayan standards, and very reasonably priced. I tried a chicken wrap for dinner which I thought could be a mistake in a bakery and Cafe. Very surprised to get a perfect wrap,... More

We stopped here for lunch and ordered sandwiches. Super fresh and tasty. There is nice outdoor seating with umbrellas. Ladies working here were super nice and service was great.

They have a lovely outside cafe plus the indoors is equally appointed. The baked goods are wonderful and some of the best Tiramisu ever.

It´s a lovely place! The salads are my favourite! But they have excelent soups as well, served in a bread! The desserts are delicious! Fair price and during the week the executive menu is about US$10 including a soda, dessert and coffee!

The menu appears fairly wide for a coffee shop: sandwiches, salads, etc. But, we ordered wrong I'm afraid. My husband's corn soup didn't have much taste nor did the penne pasta with vegetables that I ordered. We smothered both with black pepper and should have added some balsamic vinegar, as well. The penne had just a few vegetables, bell peppers... More

Amaretto is a coffee shop with table service. I got a vegetarian pasta dish with more vegetable than pasta, a great plus in my opinion. My husband had a hamburger which he described as good but not special. He rated his coffee as the best yet in Montevideo, and my tea was excellent. We both enjoyed our postres choices too.... More

This is a popular, upscale spot for meeting friends or business associates for a light lunch or late afternoon snack (merienda). Its pastries and sweets are the draw, but the café also offers soups, sandwiches and casoulets for more substantial fare, along with fruit drinks. It's located along 21 de septiembre street, just a short distance from the Rambla. You... More

This place has great sandwiches - my favorite is the salmon one. Good presentation. Coffee is also very good and the cakes fresh and delicious. For a place in the heart of Punta Carretas, prices are very good. I keep coming back here.

The location is good and the food is good too. Ask for risotto that comes inside a round bread. The sandwiches are great too. Would go there again.
