The atmosphere and surroundings of the restaurant were great, folk singers, wine cellars - a proper Bulgerian feel. We had a porcini mushroom soup served in a bread loaf which was lovely, followed by shashlik (mixed meat skewers with potatoes) and finished with a baklava. We left the restaurant in a good mood, with our bellies full and having spent... More

We booked a table here on a Saturday evening. The restaurant has a real traditional feel and we had a great table right next to where the band came to play (they came twice for about 20mins each time so just right). We were told to order our starters, which were the soup served inside a hollowed out loaf of... More

After wandering for a good deal in the cold, I found that bar on TripAdvisor. And...why not? We gave a chance. Fortunately, there was a table for six people as since I got it right the restaurant receives reservations. 1. The first two plates came after approx. 40-45 minutes. Tooooo long. I had already drunk my glass of wine. The... More

Nice furniture, musicians singing Bulgarian folk songs, i.e., a typical place for tourists. But that was about it. Food was quite bad: pork knuckle as hard and dry as stone. Grilled meat not as tough, but equally tasteless. Dessert was nice. The draught wine was not too bad. Not to be repeated if again in Sofia.

Service was slow, food was cold. BBQ meat we ordered had no flavour, chips were undercooked and cold. Only decor was nice. Red wine in the pitcher was barely drinkable. Would not go back

This place may have plenty of tourists but it has plenty of Bulgarians too. Simple (not meant in a derogatory way) foods, well prepared, fresh ingredients, well spiced. You may want to get a reservation, it gets quite crowded even in November when it is not tourist season. There is Bulgarian music so I understand, but we did not get... More

This restaurant was the best one I visited on my trip to Sofia. The food was delicious, well presented and I thought very very reasonable. The beer was nice too! Staff were friendly.

It should be said this restaurant caters extensively for the tourist ! So what, I am a tourist and I loved it. the traditional decor is matched by the extensive and traditional menu. Folk music while you eat and servers in Bulgarian costume. We enjoyed a very good evening.

The enviroment inspires you and takes your senses years back... Wooden roof, floor cellar and tables. The food just delicious and the service friendly with foreigners. Taste the lamp in varius plates and the cavarma dishes.

This restaurant is incredible. We were taken there by a Bulgarian friend so we could try out traditional dishes. The atmosphere is warm, with traditional music being played in the evening. The seats are colourful and comfortable. The food is simply incredible. Everything is delicious, served quickly in those impressive wooden boards. I would love to go there again some... More

The Restaurant "Hadjidraganov's Cellars" offers Bulgarian national cuisine on fire, on a hot plate and in an oven. Situated in the center of Sofia restaurant exposes unique atmosphere of an old cellar - all hand-maded. A band of one of the best Bulgarian folklore musicians is playing folklore music in the nights!

Legend of Hadjidraganov's Cellars!

"In 1866 a century ago Hadji Dragan, a trader of wool and silk lived in Sofia and four great houses built. Each with a style from different region of Bulgaria (Melnik, Koprivshtitza, Zheravna, Bansko). Now it's a famous restaurant "Hadjidraganov's Houses". In his famous cellars there was wine from vineyards all over the country. Only few were people entered into the Hadjidraganov's Cellars. While entering inside, silence, a smell of old barrels and a coolness met the special guests. Barrels ordered in long lines could be seen in twilight of kerosene lamps. Selected bottles lay in straw in wine racks."

Now the Restaurant Hadjidraganov's Cellars welcomes you with it's traditional bulgarian food cooked on fire, hot plate and in an oven. You can choose a wine from different regions all over Bulgaria.
