I went there with my husband for lunch, the food was fresh and properly made - I had fois gras with pear and almond, wild salmon with beetroot, pistachio and garlic chips, and for dessert coconut semifreddo with mojito cream. The service was great. For Zagreb - great value for money in centre of the town.

Tried 2 dishes from their Autumn menu: pumpkin soup with truffle oil and risotto with caviar, porcini mushrooms and pesto. Both taste great! Caviar was sprinkled on top of the risotto and pieces of porcini mushrooms were in the risotto. The real stuff! Service was quick and friendly too. Price is on the high side in local standard but worth... More

We had "team building" lunch and we stayed almost all day because it was great experience. Food and wine was great, one of best dishes was sea urchin with green pasta. Each course was perfectly explained by great chef Belizar Miloš. Terrace is great, shade from trees and view on "Tkalca" street are invitation for another visit.

Agava restaurant has ambitions. I wish them to fulfill them although it is by no means guaranteed. There is one brilliant standout though! It is their "three stars" sea urchin and porcini mushroom risotto. On my last visit it was fabulous, well executed rice cooked most likely in a light mushroom broth, laced with perfect sea urchin roe and succulent... More

Excellent service, but kitchen should be more flexible with more available options; the offer of beers is pretty short...

Our waiter was amazing. Patient, flexible, informative. The traditional stewed beef dish was quite delicious. My salmon fine. The dessert - chocolate with almonds or almond flour was outstanding. Dense but light. One of our best desserts ever.

Hubby and I spent the weekend in Zagreb and we were looking for a place we hadn't tried yet. I'm gluten free so we noticed that Agava came up in the gluten free list so we have our a try. The atmosphere is what and the wait staff very attentive and helpful. I ordered the chicken with fennel and was... More

A tourist walking down Tklciceva Street (the main "restaurant row") in Zagreb is likely to be overwhelmed by the sheer number of choices. This is particularly true if you're interested in having the standard Croatian restaurant fare. Dozens of restaurants feature the same items, but which place does it particularly well? Agava does literally *everything* well, and the service and... More

Description
"Restaurant AGAVA" - a place where fine dining truly meets a casual atmosfere.

This is very special place, a bit hidden, a bit shy...A classic Italian restaurant filled with subtle dark colours and distinctive lightning. Wide windows provide an unique view, and in spring and summer the green terrace will attract you immediately. The restaurant was opened in 2005. It is runned by Belizar Milos (owner/partner) who is also the main chef, responsible for many mediterranean delices and beyond.

So, come to the number 39 of Tklaciceva street... It'll take you 39 staircases to come to your little hiding place.
