On the walk around Casco Viejo, the ladies had the $10 one entrée lunch and the guys had the $20 three entrée dinner. The small plates just kept coming and we shared all around. Nice pleasant little café.

The cafe is located in the square next to the Basilica Metropolitana and focuses on the tourists. A cafe run by a family by the name of the head which it is named. The kitchen is not separated from the dining room, but it did not spoil, and many even like it. The prices are average, service friendly. The cafe... More

we went for dinner and one meal was enough for the 2 of us.... For $25 we enjoyed fresh bread with herbed butter, 6 different appetizers - and each one was amazing with lots of variety. 3 mains - 1 fish, 1 chicken, 1 pork - small portions but there were 3 of them so if placed all together was... We had dinner here as the last night of a tour and it was fabulous - great tasting locally inspired food - which just kept coming! In total 10 dishes including one of the best Tres Leche cake we have had. Not for the fussy - but if you want a 'family' feel with a relaxed atmosphere this is a... More

We went for the degustation menue. The entradas were a mixture between the bolivian and panamian kitchen. After several courses we had to slow down for the main course. The food tastes delicious and varies from salad to meat and fish, all cooked in an unforgetable delicious way. If you ever would want to eat something special, go for it... More

Based on previous reviews we thought we would try Rene's and were extremely impressed by the charming atmosphere and homemade food on offer. For 10 dollars (the lunch menu) we were given a feast- courses kept on coming of delicious Spanish food which we washed down with custom cocktails. I would highly recommend Rene's for an intimate meal in Vasco... More

We came for prefix dinner. We got more than what we asked for. They gave us way too many appetizers and they were all great. We did not even finish our main course. The kitchen is opened and you can see the prep and everything. Great dinner. One bad thing is that they have the same courses daily, otherwise we... More

Rene and his wife and staff never disappoint! Small, cozy atmosphere. Food is creative and good and the service is excellent. Whatever is fresh in the market that day ends up on your plate. Have never left here NOT completely stuffed. You can't help yourself!

We have been coming to Panama each year for five years and have enjoyed a delicious lunch at Renè Cafè in the Casco Antiguo district. We always have the lunch special, delicious complete lunch at a very reasonable price. On a side note the coffee is great too. Very friendly staff and atmosphere. Highly recommend it.
