We ordered the arroz verde con pollo and it was fantastic. I suggest only ordering 1 entree unless you're Andre the Giant or a competition eater with an axe to grind. Like the other reviews state, service isn't great but they're definitely helpful when your Spanish slips up and you need a little help. Overall great place in a quiet... More
After reading great reviews about this place, we decided to have lunch here during our last day in Panama. La Jarana was conveniently located near our hotel, so seemed like a good choice. The food is just ok, or atleast the dishes we ordered were. The serving size, however, is huge!! One entree can easy fill two people. And the... More
Good option to have a extremely affordable dinner with great taste of Peruvian food. The restaurant is quite simple. But the food is very tasteful. I strongly recommend. The "Arroz verde con marisco" costs 15 USD and can be shared with 3 to 4. There is parking as well.
When we drove up to La Jarana, parking was difficult but a very friendly attendant helped us find a place to park. When we entered the restaurant, it was full of middle-class Panamanians... some families and some workers... but not another expat to be seen. I love restaurants that ooze charm, so I was a little nervous about this restaurant... More
One of my three favorite Peruvian food restaurants in Panama!*** I love their delicious flavors and hearty portions. They have chicken and beef plates, but their seafood is the true reason I go there. Cebiches, Tiraditos, their Soups, Chaufas, etc. etc. all yummy and fresh. If you like spiciness, make sure you accompany these dishes with their tasty hot sauce.... More
Laid back, Peruvian restaurant in a very casual environment. Please, you must have the fried ceviche with yuca frita and the green rice with fish ... The first is a bit on the greasy side but worth it. Portions are huge, do share. Trust me on this one. Prices are behind reasonable. One caveat: the restaurant is located in a... More
We have eaten here before and the food was good. As is the case with so many places now though, kids are allowed to disrupt the the entire scene. I had another experience like that the same week as well. That is fine for sporting events, kids places and the park. There were 5-7 adults at a table with several... More
This is not an expensive place, is quite simple, the service is not the best. But the food is very good! The tuna causa limeña is great and the seafood corvina is awesome for a sunday lunch.
