Best nachos! The nachos are very generously layered with cheese, veggies and the meat of your choice. Served with salsa and sour cream. This is a large portion, enough for four to six people. Service is always quick.

As sports grills go, this place was like a big, fun tailgate party held indoors. Seating was at tables or a bar; our large work group chose tables. We were all pleased with our orders and the fast and attentive service. My Boston haddock plate was perfectly prepared, as were its sides of coleslaw and French fries. Portions were generous and delicious. Iced tea hit the spot on a hot weekday. Every wall was full of sports memorabilia. It felt like eating in a hall of fame. Free parking was in a paved lot. We liked all that we found here; we particularly appreciated the size and quality of the entrées.

My husband got a Gipper's gift card for Christmas so we decided to check it out. I got the Bourque burger. I liked how all of the dishes were named after famous sports figures mostly from New England. Very cute :) Hubby got the Yaz burger and he enjoyed it.
I also like how they offer 2 sides with your meal...love my sides! The burger could have been a tad bit bigger and was taken over by the bun but other than that it was very tasty. The service was very good and the atmosphere was friendly. Also a good value.

Our family made a banquet room reservation for a post-funeral dinner several days prior to arrival. Upon arriving at Gipper’s, our group of 25 guests, some elderly, were informed that although the banquet room was available, they could no longer accommodate us due to a staffing shortage. The restaurant failed to give us notice of the cancellation and upon request, the owner who was on site, refused to meet with us.
A quick phone call to the Gridiron in Lewiston was made. Although they indicated that they were a little short on waitstaff, they would be happy to accommodate our group and would have tables ready in 15 minutes. We departed Gipper’s and had outstanding meals and service at the Gridiron. Now that’s what I call excellent customer service!
Gipper’s management/ownership appears to clearly lacks basic customer service skills and that trickles down to its staff. We had just left a funeral service and the deceased person’s wishes were that we all gather at one of her favorite eateries. The lack of empathy by Gipper’s was remarkable. Gipper’s lost more than a significant menu sale this day, they lost our respect. We once patronized this business. That has changed. I will advise anyone doing business there to use caution should you decide to use their facility for a large gathering. You may be in for a surprise when you arrive…..

2 strikes at a sports bar.
Last week it was “tough as shoe leather” chicken tenders and this week it was food that sat in the service window and cooled off.
Usually we love it here, but after 2 strikes, may think twice before coming back. Waitress didn’t ask about our meal this week…..

Our funeral service scheduled/reserved a separate room a couple days before, when we showed up after the funeral service they said they could not accommodate with zero advance notice to as well as with no answers. the owner of Gippers refused to come out and talk with our family and hid in the kitchen. I hope that the owner feels very proud of himself that he turned down a funeral service, as he was too scared to address our family, as well as a huge amount of business and future business lost. Absolute disgraceful along with the owner of Gippers. Garbage management.

We have been to Gippers many times in the last twenty years and were very happy with the food but not today. For the first time ever we just left Gippers and we're all very disappointed. I ordered a Yaz burger, medium. It was so overcooked that it was dry. The fries along with the burger did not have any seasoning. The coleslaw was very overdressed but again, was without seasoning. We also had a Marvelous Marvin which was underseasoned as well. Too bad. Gippers used to be the place to get great burgers and sandwiches.

Gipper's is my favorite restaurant for great service, fresh salads, generous portions, and prices that haven't gone up while portion size goes down like a lot of places. GREAT JOB everyone!!

Good is food with a great selection. Something for everyone. Six of us had a variety of sandwiches and burgers. Everyone was happy and sufficiently stuffed. All sandwiches come with choice of two sides too. Our server was great! The place was very busy and she was running around but always checked back with us and kept drinks filled. Great selection of sports memorabilia hanging on the walls and a dozen TVs going all day. Go and have fun!

The food was great. The service by Sarah was greater.
When we return to ME we will visit Gipper’s and insist on having Sarah as our server.

Gippers is a sports bar with numerous televisions, several tables, consequently considerable noise. However the upside is the quality of food and service. The food was of good quality and plentiful.The wait staff is very attentive and friendly.

This place is disgustingly filthy but the food is outstanding. The floors had scraps from previous tables, the walls had food stains and the bathroom was about as disgusting as anyone has ever seen. To be fair, the place was packed and the staff was struggling to keep up. They did an amazing job of delivering food, taking orders and trying to stay ahead of the rush.
The food was priced right, portions were full, and it tasted delicious. If this place paid attention to the details, might be a return customer. Take out may be the only way to avoid an infection.

Best sports bar in the twin cities. Great local following supports Gipper's reputation for quality food, great social atmosphere and on-going sports action. If you are looking for a friendly, social environment where people talk and think sports you cannot beat Gipper's. The walls are covered with memorabilia, autographed pictures and artifacts representing local, state and professional sports. Plenty of big screen TV sets, trivia games and most importantly, really good food.

have been going here for years.we go every few months as a family.food has always been good. food is always hot.and a good size portion. the waiting staff if quick and friendly.they check on you a few times during your visit.better than many other restaurants. it is kind of hidden away in aplaza but you can find it. it's worth it to look for it i promise you. enjoy.

I am in town on business several times a year. I like to walk to Gippers from my hotel.
Last night, I went here with a coworker.
I had the President's Cup salad that comes with grilled turkey. My coworker had the chicken tenders.
They arrived about 10 minutes later. We both enjoyed our meals.
Super friendly service.
