We're a brew pub on the banks of the Androscoggin River in Auburn, Maine. We've been brewing beer since 1988, and our breweries are a Maine institution. Join our famous mug club and connect with our beer loving community as well as receive beer discounts. Our pub menu has something for everyone, from classic pub dishes like ale-battered fish and chips and fried shrimp to fresh local seafood, burgers, wings, and more. Enjoy a cold locally brewed craft beer on our deck when the weather is warm and hunker down in our cozy brew pub or outside in our sun bubbles when it's chilly.

We visited on a cold Saturday in May. The atmosphere inside was lively. The deck looked nice for a warmer evening.
Service was friendly and prompt; an achievement during this tight labor market.
Sweet potato fries were great. Burgers were good. The Portobello is slices (as it indeed says in the menu, but I missed that...) think mushroom "tenders," not "burger." Black Fly Stout was a good addition to all of the above.

This restaurant was a 10 minute walk from our hotel. Although it's a brew pub, they are family friendly and offer a kid's menu. Overall quality of the food and cocktails was very good. I had the Haddock Rueben which was excellent, other in our party had fried shrimp and fish and chips. Both were good, My grandson had pizza from the kids' menu and that even tasted good.

The pub is in a great location on the river, and has a great name. The rest of the operation didn't go with the setting, the service was poor, the food we had wasn't very good and the beer recommended to match my taste wasn't good either. It was a nice afternoon overlooking the river.

If you like fried frozen food and waitresses who don't give a s--t , then this is the place for you!
Food was served still frozen. Waitress just walked away saying it wasn't her fault ( which is true) but failed to try to correct it. We were handed our check and said to have a good night
Then when she came to get the payment ,she asked if we wanted a box ???? 🤷🏼‍♀️
I hope your experience is better then ours!

15 of us on a Sunday. Staff was super accommodating and gave us the room with couch all to ourselves.
Bloody Mary’s were spicy and made well.
Had a plethora of items off the menu from chicken wings burgers the chicken pot pie fabulous chowder was awesome onion soup too.
Tons of choices to cover every crave!!!
Nice view of the river!

The pub is in a great location, with a pretty deck that overlooks the river. They offer locally brewed beer and the food looked good --we'd already eaten, so I can't say. Our waitperson was attentive and knowledgable.

First time to Gritty's Auburn but it is just so good to be back at anyone of the three locations. Food was great. I had three Salad and steak with pickled onions. Soooooo good. Love it. For my beer I had a trusty Vacation Land. I added a slice of lemon to the beer to give the extra summer taste.
Ps -- pickle chips were the best I ever had.
Love my Grittys!!!

Request a sample of a couple of beer to make your best choice. Friendly staff with lots of smiles. Fish and chips was a wonderful light meal to share.

The taps are European style meaning warm beer. The outside seating is so uncomfortable and much of the inside seating as well. Upgrade people. Your menus look like they have been used as placemats for food for months. Reinvest have some pride

Have visited the brewery prior and had a good experience - this time the visit was just awful - service seemed very understaffed - had to wait for beers for a very long time and dinner did not arrive until close to TWO hours after ordering.

The brick and dark wood ambiance is attractive, and the deck overlooking the river is pretty nice. Indoor service was terrible -- took forever for the waitress to come over and clear the table, never mind disinfect it, even though there were just a few customers sitting inside on a slow weekday early afternoon.

Four of us ate dinner here tonight.
The good -- My Haddock Reuben was absolutely fantastic. So was the Build Your Burger that Son #1 had. The fries were fresh and crisp. The place has a good vibe and our server, Sarah, was an absolute doll.
The bad -- My wife ordered the fish tacos and Son #2 ordered a chicken burrito. Suffice it to say that ordering Mexican food in a pub food place in Lewiston, Maine may not be the good idea. Not the worst idea in the world, but not the best.

Stopped in while staying a couple days in Auburn for work. Tried all the beers twice! They have a great selection, lots of seasonal beers as well. Went the pizza route, but it was a tough d codon with their wide menu. Pulled pork, bbq sauce, bacon, onion and tomatoe...phenomenal. Wife had a gluten free crust, chicken, mushroom and basil pesto. Bartender Jackie was awesome and made the visit fun!
