In late September, my husband and I spent two idyllic days on Nantucket. The first night was a bit rainy, so we decided to have dinner at Sushi by Yoshi so that we could have noodles in soup, a sort of comfort food. I can honestly say that the bowl of soba noodles in broth I ordered at Sushi by... More

Tucked down a side street in Nantucket Town is Yoshi's Sushi. an island mainstay for many years (remodeled after a fire a couple of years ago) has a good assortment of Sushi as well as other Japanese selections. The soups and appetizers are ample and good. This is not gourmet food but it is good . The sushi is good... More

I realize this place has been on the island for many years but it does not hold up to the high quality of other Nantucket eateries. The sushi is just ok; spicy tuna roll was not that spicy. The chicken teriyaki is fried nuggets that are bland and hard. Same with the salmon dinner-why would you deep fry salmon? The... More

Consistency is key in restaurants, and Sushi By Yoshi always comes through. I mostly grab take out but will occasionally grab a Miso soup and a Philly roll for lunch inside. Great staff, even smiley when they are swamped! They also stay open year round, which isn't easy to do on Nantucket, so I like supporting them whenever I can.... More

Yoshi has been an island institution for some time. Owner Terri is serious about his cuisine. Ask him where he sources his tuna: local in season and flown in from Japan when not. Now that they have a liquor license for wine and beer we hope we can still get in. Take out is mighty nice too.

We walked in with no expectations. Blown away by quality of food and excellent recommendations from the waiter--such as yummy Tokyo Style Ramen.

This is our "go to" restaurant, all year 'round. Yoshi offers a great selection of very fresh seafood. In addition to Sushi, there is tempura, Japanese fusion entrees, great salads, appetizers and soups. You can't go wrong. This summer a bar will be added in addition to BYOB. The wait staff is super and the atmosphere relaxed.

we arrived at 4:30 PM just when the place opened. Service was very good -- food came quickly. We had several of the Nantucket special sushis -- Mitchell, Ocean, and the daily special. All were tasty and well made. Miso soup and seaweed salad were also good. Only criticism -- no brewed tea -- only teabags. Sushi was pricey --... More

The sushi here is good, but it is the lunch entrees that are the star. The Chicken Ramen and the Shrimp Tempura are both among my favorites. Very filling and hearty. I always leave Yoshi's glad that I ate there.
