It was the love from the first moment, we entered this atrium restaurant. Interesting house full of colonial time history, nice older waiteresses and good traditional meal. We were there only for light lunch, we tasted black bean soup Guatemalan style and some kind of pupusas. . The meal was very nice, fresh and good prepared. The glass of Zapaca... More

Located in the heart of Antigua this restaurant caters to tourists and Guatemalan who come on weekends. They do a lot of typical dishes and they are known for their grilled meats. The seating is in a courtyard that is quite pleasant.

My wife and I were wondering the streets of Antigua looking for a place to eat. For some reason we are not really clear on we chose this restaurant and we were very happy we did. From the street it doesn't look like much but once you walk in it opens to a very nice courtyard. Even though we speak... More

We have dined here 3 or 4 times over the past year and enjoyed every meal we've had. It's pricier than most--sort of a fine-dining version of many local dishes--but it allows you to try Guatemalan cuisine from different parts of the country. Bill Clinton dined there at some point in the 90s and they've marked the chair he (allegedly)... More

We ate upstairs where it is quieter. The food is excellent and we were all pleased with our dishes. There are three locations, we learned, but having only eaten at one we cannot evaluate the others. I wish we could try them all!

we looked and looked on the last night of our stay, we were 14 girls, and found this restaurant Fonda. We saw a beautiful roasted vegetables and nice plates and we decided to go in. They found us a table, service took forever, we were so hungry by the time we got our nachos for appetizers that we kept asking... More

This place is a legit hospitality business. If you wonder how Guatemalan folks eat, visit La fonda because is one of best restaurants to visit in la Antigua. we trusted this place for the six times we have visited Antigua Guatemala. The waitress and waiters are professionals in the industry. I hope it gets better the next time a go... More

Fonda de la Calle Real has been in Antigua forever. It became famous a long time ago, when there was no restaurants in Antigua, because of their grill next to the maim street ( the street with the Arch) which attracted tourist walking by with incredible smells. It started mostly as a steak house but has transitioned offering Guatemalan traditional... More

Great food & service with a awesome atmosphere. We have now eaten here 4 times for lunch & dinner and have enjoyed great food & wine. My favourite is the Stuffed peppers & my husbands favourite is the very tasty Chicken soup. We have also tried a few other traditional dishes & have not been disappointed.

Went to the 3a Calle poniente branch of this restaurant- nice courtyard setting. He had the Ka'qik (turkey soup), she had the pepian vegetariano (flavourful stew) both came with rice, tamal, tortillas, plate of condiments, but the highlight was the delicious, pale green salsa picante- I may be addicted. Service was sweet and attentive
