I used to go at least once a week to Toko Baru; with friend or even by myself. This place might be small but they have a great selection of plates, simply delicious and at the best price!!! My mouth is melting remembering it. Seriously,...More

Nice staff. That white sauce is unparralelled. Owner very helpful and friendly. Best value in town for sure. Toku for the win!

Really interesting food, space and patrons...we enjoyed it all. We had a randang curry and a 1/2 falafel, along with 2 beers before we went to Hermano Pedro museum and San Francisco church site and ruins. Perfect amount of food and incredibly tasty. Each meal...More

Despite claiming to be vegetarian friendly and having vegetarian options on the menu they had nothing vegetarian available at 7:30 pm on a weekday. Also a long walk out of the main area where other restaurants are.More

Dear ranjha_nomad To be honest your review is a bit of a mystery for us at Toko Baru. It is virtually impossible that we run out of all our Vegetarian meals- as we have 5 on the menu (Falafel/Kofta/Sabij/Springrolls/Kare curry). We seldom run out of...More

My wife and I had lunch here and we were happy with the food and service. We both had falafel in pita bread and a side of chips (fries). The chips were excellent (big and chunky like I like them) and the falafel was very...More

We ate here 3 times over 2 days because we were so impressed. Highly recommend the falafel pita- best we’ve ever had. Really great prices made it one of the best value for money meals we’ve had whilst travelling around Central America. Had a curry...More

This place serves really good Indonesian, Indian and middle eastern food. The falafels hit the spot and the sauces you get with everything are amazing. My one disappointment was that all the curries (except the Indonesian kare) come with meat and no veggie option. Other...More

Ate here 3 times. The curries were delicious and only 40q. My favourite was the pork curry. The spring roll wasn't very good

Description
Toko Baru was founded in 2008. The menu is quite eclectic and can be described as pan-Asian and mid eastern. Toko Baru strives to serve a great quality meal for a fair price. Toko Baru has become a staple among locals as well as the expat and traveler community in Antigua. All food is prepared locally and Toko Baru prides itself on some very tasty meals like the Shoarma Kebab- The choice of how to eat the meal lies with the customer- the options are: in a Pita Bread- in a wheat tortilla (as a burrito) or on a plate with Rice. All meals are served with our sauces- a yogurt garlic based sauce, a fruity sauce – and a very hot version of a Sambal sauce (made out of local chilies).
