The bamboo bridge seems to be out of action, but super easy to get to; free boat service over the river. Tried the Lao fondue, was delicious! Great service, nice atmosphere, worth a visit!

A great way to spend a lazy afternoon in Luang Prabang is to take a boat to Dyen Sabai and enjoy the view, food and a cocktail (or two. Or three). Really nice curry!

We were in LP during the wet season so no bamboo bridge. Took a boat across had to pay something small upfront which you then claim against your food bill. Friendly service but very difficult to communicate with most staff unfortunately even when pointing at...More

Amazing location and you can choose between a normal table or Japanese sitting tables. This creates a cosy atmosphere. Lao fondue is what you need to have here :-)

It is not often that one gets to sample something truly unique, which is why you must go to this restaurant if you are in Laos. We caught a small boat across the river, although I understand there is a bamboo bridge in the dry...More

Amazing food in a remarkable riverfront setting, augmented by delicious lime daiquiris. We had to scramble into their free ferry to get across the river, but it really is worth it. The barbecue during which you create your own soup is amazing, never eaten anything...More

Came here as we were staying down the road and were pleasantly surprised to find a fantastic place overlooking the river. The staff were friendly and the place was very comfortable. The Laos-style fondue was amazing and worth every penny (although there is a lack...More

Get there before 7pm and take advantage of their happy hour two for one deal! Luckily, we waited to drink ours until after we did the barbeque (I know it as fondue). I had the buffalo and a friend had the vegetable tofu set. It...More

Definitely worth the journey in a small ferry across a raging Nam Khan River to get to this idyllic spot. We sat perched above the river eating delicious crepes. The menu looked excellent & service was very good. Worth checking out!

Lounging on cushions watching the Nam Khan flow by while enjoying a coffee or cocktail (2 for 1 between noon and 7pm!) could become a habit. The food smelled and looked good but I didn't taste it.

No, not in my view, because of the nature of the bridge's construction and the steep access to it from both sides. You would need to take a taxi and go the long way round.

Description
Dyen Sabai offers Lao typical food. From November to August, we offer breakfast. We also have a nice selection of desert (foreigner sweet.. sorry the Laotians don't eat that much sweet!!) We also, have happy hour from noon to 7 pm, 2 cocktails for the price of one, on selected cocktails. You can reach us with a bamboo bridge (in dry season) (there is a fee for the bamboo bridge of 5,000 kips from 8 am to 8 pm, after this the bamboo bridge is free). We also do free boat from noon to closing when the bamboo bridge is not there (rainy season only)
