About 20 of us ate here - the location is excellent, sitting outside on the river bank watching the water taxis and other brightly lit boats going by. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food came in good time and they catered well for our large number. Tastes and choices were excellent. I had a mezze selection, a fatoush salad and... More

I followed a Lonely Planet recommendation and ate here with my friend on an exploration walk around Bur Dubai and Deira. We got lucky with a corner table overlooking the Creek and had a lovely lunch of a mezze plate and then chicken stir fried rice. Both were delicious, the service was good and considering the location, the price wasn't... More

just to get an outdoor seat and relax enjoying the boats going by. In the heart of Bur Dubai in "souks row", take a break from haggling with the merchants and sit down and have lunch or dinner or just a break from it all. The food, to be honest, is not first class by any range but it is... More

I have been to this riverside restaurant twice for lunch: once with family including an under-one year old; and once alone. The restaurant is on the water, and is attached to a traditional arabic home. The welcome and service are exceptional; the food good value and beautifully presented.

This is an outdoor restaurant right on the Creek by the souks and old Dubai. The location is amazing and there is very good viewing of the activity on the waterfront. The staff are friendly and the food is delicious. The building is also of historical significance.

This is a very busy restaurant because of the great views by the side of a Creek. If you want a seat by the water you will have to wait. The seat away from the water are quiet dark. The service is a bit hit and miss, but the food is tasty and you can enjoy watching the bustling Creek... More

1st time we went there wasn't a view of the creek. Came back later and sat by the water.... Had traditional food while the Abras travesed the water. Surely that trip is the best value journey in Dubai. Not to be missed! Very energetic on a Friday!

If it's hot and sunny nothing is more pleasant than sitting under the roof and still in the breeze of the river, enjoying the view and good food. My favored place, I keep coming back.

This restaurant's food isn't particularly fancy, but it is very tasty and decent value. We loved sitting out on the terrace at night, watching the boats go up and down the Creek. Very atmospheric. And only a short abra ride to the Souks of Deira.

Staying in The Creek

Neighbourhood Profile
The Creek
The smell of frankincense hangs thick and heavy in the air, waves lap gently at jetties, and market traders call to passing tourists. The creek, originally the place where pearl boats docked and left on missions to uncover jewels from the deep, is where the city really began. The Al Fahidi District on the Creekside is one of the oldest heritage sites in Dubai, easily recognizable with its iconic wind towers, the original air conditioning. Home to the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding and the Dubai Museum, the old buildings also house a range of cafes, shops and art galleries. Often called “the real Dubai,” this is a wonderful place to lose yourself before catching an abra across the creek to the spice souk, where your senses will be overwhelmed with tastes, smells, and sounds.
