Good food, really tasty! But when your "medium" steak is almost just a rare piece of meat you should not eat it unless you want to stay couple days in bed.. sorry bad ratings for that! Food tasted delicious tho..

When we were in Potosi, a number of other tourists told us about this restaurant when they found we were going to Sucre. We started with a martini, since it is so rare to see on menus. We watched our young water pull the bottles (Beefeaters Gin) from the shelf, but caught us looking. He shyly took the bottles into... More

Nice atmosphere, the staff are friendly and, like all the other reviews have said, the steaks are excellent. Located pretty close to the main plaza.

Four of us had dinner here. The menu was varied with a French style. The food was well cooked and prepared and we had a wry enjoyable meal.

Probably my own fault for ordering a vegetarian sandwich in a restaurant known for it's steak! It was terrible! Semi cooked carrot and broccoli with wilted lettuce & tomato that made the bread soggy with horrible semi-melted cheese. Came with fries that were far too oily. Was not impressed given it's an expensive restaurant! My husband had a steak sandwich,... More

My boyfriend and I enjoyed our evening at La Taverne. The venue is rustic but cosy, all tables candlelit. Service was a bit forgetful but very friendly. To drink we chose a local beer (Paceña, very light) and Sauvignon blanc (La Concepción, nothing out of this world and unfortunately it wasn't served chilled enough). The food was good, if not... I firmly believe La Taverne has the best steak in Sucre! Went there for dinner on the recommendation of people in our hostel and it exceed our expectations. The meat was delicious and tender (they don't give you steak knifes, which is a sign) and it came with tasty vegetables and salty chips. The atmosphere is cosy and intimate and... More

My boyfriend and I visited here the other night after the great trip advisor reviews - did not disappoint! Super little place that was filled with wine bottles and mood lighting. I had the goats cheese salad which was great and my boyfriend had a steak which he wolfed down. The only thing was that there were only 2 members... More

Fantastic lunch, the best meal on my trip so far. The steak was cooked to perfection. Definitely not one to miss if you are in Sucre.

The restaurant is sited at the Alliance France in Sucre, and offers a blend of local food with French flair. Prices are on the high side for Sucre, but the food is quite good.
