A real "diner" experience with an extensive menu, a nattering set of local neighbors, and something to please everyone. Huge portions. Soups excellent...and it's the only place for miles around that has a gyro. I have never been disappointed by the food or the service. Can't go wrong here.

EVERYTHING on the menu was fabulous, from the oatmeal to the mushroom and swiss omelette. Our server was especially gregarious, explaining the history of the diner with admiration and enthusiasm. Eight of us were easily seated and had a great time. LOVE all the boomerang and chrome! We'll definitely be back!

Awesome Awesome, Awesome! Wonderful Wait Staff and awesome diner food. Had the Patty Melt lunch special that included home made chicken dumpling soup that was full of homemade dumplings! Also had a chococlate malt that was outstanding. The Patty Melt was delicious. All this for about $8. Definitely search it out and go there! Also met the owner Nick, who... More

They were busy and service was slow but friendly. We split an omelet, order of bacon and coffee. They kept our coffee cups filled up very well. The food was average. The place is interesting.

Poached egg was PERFECT! Hash browns were excellent. Toast could be improved with higher quality bread. Friendly staff; clean; overall good experience.

In a town with SOOO few options, took a gamble and rolled the dice on this joint. 50's 'style' (aka - decor). A locals place for sure. Hot coffee, mug was never empty. Price was very on point. Nothing special, just food. Service was alright, I would go back.

Nick's feels like the comfy diner you went to in the 60s where you knew everyone. You talk to the staff and other customers there.Prices are a bargain and the food is always tasty. If you are looking for gourmet go elsewhere but if you want some hearty comfort food this is the right place.

We were looking for a place to eat on our way home, so checked out what was available. The reviews were good so we looked it up. The food was excellent and the staff was friendly.

My wife and I went into Nick's for breakfast. I ordered eggs and pancakes and she ordered an omelet. The food was good for a local diner (how can you screw up eggs, pancakes and an omelet?) The waitress was super helpful and it was a nice quite place for breakfast. The Alpena people are all friendly and the cost... More

Good food and friendly atmosphere. Enjoyed the BellyBuster burger, fried chicken and pizza. Good coffee too. Fun stop especially with the nice staff!
