Pilar's Tamales is a great little place in Ann Arbor for authentic tamales. The owner makes them daily, and you can either order takeout or eat them in this small restaurant. An interesting blend of decor, combining railroad memorabilia and Latin American art.

The Mexican coffee is a must! Just the right amount of spicy without being overbearing. Tamales are the best in town. Everything I've tried has been top notch.

Interesting atmosphere with many handmade items decorating the shop and also for sale. The owners are very friendly. Very interesting variety of tamale choices. Vegetarian and vegan choices are plentiful. Very enjoyable experience!!
