Have visited a few times and just don't see what keeps anyone coming back. It's mediocre food for a high price. The staff is pretty good. They are the high point of the place.

I had the smothered chicken. I ate every bite and wished I could eat more. Big Daddy had a steak he said it was the best he's had in ages. It seemed a long wait to get our food but the server was amiable and competent.

We met our family at Bootleggers. Used to be excellent. We had not been there since had fire and rebuilt. We live in Nixa and our family lives in Phillipsburg, Kansas and Aurora is good place to meet for dinner. We got there around 4pm. Not many people there. The service was substandard. Very slow. We ordered appetizer of fried Portobello... More

What a great restaurant. Varied menu. Very good prices. We shared soup (clam chowder), sandwich (French dip) and fries and it was under $12.00. Super friendly local diners. It's an hour and a half drive but we'll be back. In an old bank building in downtown. Very charming.

Prime rib sandwich was delicious. The fries were wonderful, burgers were average. Bootlegger salad was good, fresh lettuce and crisp. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Unique atmosphere.

We drove over 2 hours from out of state to buy a truck at the Mayse Chevy dealership in town (best car buying experience we've ever had, by the way) and so we discussed our test drive and mulled over the potential vehicle purchase during lunch at Bootleggers. It is a quaint little historical place, food was great, iced tea... More

Decided to take the back roads on our way to Branson and stopped in for lunch. The food and service was excellent. Would definitely come back to this restaurant again when in the area.

I had the prime rib and jalapeno appetizers. They both came out in a timely fashion, and the service was good. I'd definitely go back.

Quaint place to go with family or friends. Great atmosphere and decor. Menu has about an thing you would from a nicer restaurant. Everything is good. Prices are comparable to places in a larger. Located in downtown in old bank building.

So, in the past ten years I have eaten at this restaurant many times and never been that impressed, until now. Maybe it is new owners or maybe it took them a while to get it all right. Whatever it is, it works! The food is better than restaurants in bigger cities and the prices are less expensive. The atmosphere... More
