Having been a restaurateur for 33 years and now retired and travelling it was a real pleasure and Joy to dine at this fine Restaurant, While visiting Asia we eat and enjoy street food and casual affordable dining but it’s wonderful to have a special dining experience such as this restaurant. Having researched our dining options we booked this restaurant 3 weeks in advance . On arrival we were greeted warmly by the host and co proprietor and seated in the beautiful upstairs dining room. The room was classy without the bling and the wine list was interesting and good value. We both had shared tasting menu 1 and 2 and each dish delivered a great taste of Cambodian Cuisine .The presentation and delivery of each dish was amazing . The chef proprietor chatted with us on departure and this restaurant is a great Ambassador for Cambodian Food.

Cuisine Wat Demnak is set in a traditional Cambodian wooden house in the heart of Siem Reap’s Wat Damnak village; it is absolutely beautiful. We were celebrating a birthday, and subsequently, they had just reopened on the weekends following its post-covid-19 closure. It is a tasting menu only, but it is exactly what we were looking for to celebrate a special occasion. They pride themselves on sourcing their ingredients locally and as such, the menu changes from week to week based on the seasons and market availability of items. This is such an amazing concept and so unique that you could experience such a pantheon of flavors at the same restaurant each time you go. If you are interested in seeing what they are serving, simply head to their website where they post updates on a regular basis; you will find the regular tasting menu accompanied by a plant-based tasting menu. They are also able to make accommodations for vegetarians or vegans if you notify them ahead of time. From the moment we stepped in, the service was impeccable and it stayed that way all throughout the service. We enjoyed several of their signature cocktails, which are very reasonably priced considering the level of dining experience you are enjoying. Then, the food….oh my goodness the food. The presentation, the flavors, it was all absolutely amazing. Food items after food items kept coming, and we were thankful for a long walk home after such an amazing experience. Our favorite items were the crispy duck and the amazing chocolate cake. All in all, it was an experience we will surely never forget.

This restaurant is well worth its previous good reviews and I would highly recommend. Unbeknown to me, Siem Reap offered a number of very good, 'high end' restaurants and Cuisine Wat Damnak is up there with the very best. My wife and I were recommended to each take one of the two changing tasting menus and then experience an incredible array of wonderful and interesting tastes. Without listing everything we ate (the menu is on attached photograph), the tastes we experienced were varied, wonderful and, at times, challenging (in a nice way). The two six course tasting menus are $34 each and offer incredible value for money, given the quality of preparation, presentation, service and ambiance. A truly memorable meal in wonderful surroundings and with excellent service. In any other town/city this would have been our hands down favourite restaurant but, such is the strength of the culinary scene in Siem Reap, it has come in as our second favourite to Embassy Khmer Gastronomy. This however is not intended in any way as a criticism as this restaurant and its tasting menu is truly excellent and each offers a different culinary experience. Try both and, I believe, you'll be absolutely blown away by Cambodian cooking at its very best.

This should be a top rated restaurant in Siem Reap. We’ve been to over 50 places and this is easily in among the two very best. It’s not just dinner, it’s an experience. The tasting menu makes it easy (only two choices: vegetarian or non-vegetarian). The French owner makes it a pleasure, with wine recommendations and an enthusiastic tour of the many courses. The food is perhaps best described as “haute Khmer” - local flavors and inspirations, with a French-style presentation. The traditional Cambodian stilted house setting adds to the magic. It’s a bit pricey if compared to local shacks, but very reasonable for what you get and experience. A delight all around!

I had a great meal at Cuisine Wat Damnak. The time I was there , there were only 2 choices of 5-course menus. I liked every dish of the choice I made. I normally do not like fish but the fish dish was so well made and interesting that I liked the most. I am a small eater but 5-course was good portion for me as I did not finish the rice that came with one dish. The complimentary dessert plate was so good with different kinds of bit size exotic fruits with some kind of mixed salts on the side. The chef, Joannès Rivière, came out to speak with the guest at the end of the meal. I totally recommend Cuisine Wat Damnak. If there were more than 2 choices of 5-course menus, I would have come back the following night. I was just not too keen about the 2nd choice as it had red meat (if I remember right). It was very good value for the exquisite food.

Got a table 2 weeks in advance, table upstairs recommended but everywhere else looked equally as lovely. Staff were very pleasant, it was a treat to receive a visit from the chef at the end of the meal- he did this with every guest. The food was delicious and certainly a fair price for the entire experience. Enjoy xxx

Excellent tasting menu. I was solo and never felt awkward. Location is lovely and tables are well spaced so you’re not sitting on top of one another - also there are several different little nooks and seating areas. Greeted by the chef who accommodated a gluten sensitive diet. Every dish was lovely, building flavours and textures. Beautifully poached langostine in tomato water, prohor soup and the fire ant condiment were real standouts. Service was attentive, efficient and friendly. House wine was acceptable. In a city with great options, I wouldn’t hesitate to return!

We treated ourselves to an evening of great food at this quiet, tiny restaurant off the beaten path after a rave review from a couple we met traveling from NYC. The set menu was worth the extra $$ but personally would have liked a little more ambiance, a hint of music, more candles, a visit from the chef. It was very sedate though delicious.

Cuisine Wat Damnak offers an eight course tasting menu at $45 with an alternative "plant based" menu. They can accommodate strict vegetarians and vegans with advance notice. We had the standard tasting menu and very much enjoyed it. The emphasis is on local ingredients; the cuisine is French influenced as you would expect from the French patron, who came out of the kitchen to serve our last dish himself. The restaurant has al fresco and indoors dining areas and a garden which gives it a special ambiance. The service was prompt and attentive

This was the best meal we had in Cambodia and were delighted to have an eight course tasting menu that was plant based/ vegan. The food was delicious and inventive, wonderfully presented, and ,the service impeccable It is pricey by Cambodian standards, but inexpensive by western standards. The wine list is good—French mainly. Highly recommended, especially if you are vegan/plant based and want something upscale but still Cambodian food, not western food.

Somewhat surprising to find a place like this in this area. Obviously caters to tourists that want to skip the native cuisine. Doing that means spending $35 each instead of $8. Worth it? I would say only if you really like tasting menu `thing`. For me, I find myself disappointed when I taste something really good but after 2-3 bites it's gone. Having said that the flavors were awesome

We ate here a year ago to the day. Then we thought this was fine dining in the most unlikely of cities; a year on we realise that Siem Reap is actually well stocked with excellent eating venues; Cuisine Wat Damnak however is still tops for us after our second visit this February. The 2 option fixed menu changes frequently but always throws up combinations and ingredients that we very rarely, or never at all, find elsewhere. Service is slick but unobtrusive. Portion sizes are just right for the tasting menu concept and, unlike some which offer this option, you don’t leave feeling overstuffed. Value for money remains very high. I reckon about the bill was about 40% of the equivalent in an European city. Hoping we will return again next year.

My friend and I were in Cambodia for a 40th birthday trip. This was our last meal before leaving so we wanted to get something really nice. We’re foodies and we love eating out at all kind of restaurants everywhere we go. This restaurant gives service and food on par with any Michelin star restaurant in the states at a fraction of the price. Impeccable service, beautiful atmosphere and elevated, beautiful and tasty dishes mixing authentic Cambodian flavors with techniques from around the world. The cocktails were delicious and varied. Excellent for a nice meal out or a romantic occasion

We visited Cuisine Wat Damnak in the month of December. The place is underwhelming and we sat on a table facing a blue tiled walled. The seating is uncomfortable and cold. The staff looked stressed and overwhelmed. The wine was excellent, the food came in small amouse boucle plates. The flavours were all there. But considering there was no option of ala carte menu, the set menu was stifling and very expensive for what the offerings were. At 45 USD per person it was very disappointing. We came there because of the ratings of all.guides. I would not recommend it to anyone who is looking for a fine dining experience as we left feeling ripped off. A compulsory set menu is fine at an omakase restaurant where the food is outstanding beyond compare. The seven course menu that appeared on small plates took forever to appear and it was brain numbingly stultifying to sit and stare at a blue tiled wall whilst we waited fir the next course of a morsel of food to appear. Overall very disappointed with the experience.
