We were two American couples, and thankfully, my friend spoke Spanish, so it helped. We dined here on 3 different nights because the food was great. My wife and I do not have "adventuresome palates". We just want a good meal. Chicken, beef, pasta, veggies. All were done well, and the server (manager?) could not have been nicer. A winner!

Tasty food. Seafood is second to none. Great drink specials. Prompt and friendly service. The passion fruit pie is delicious.

This is a nice, open air restaurant on the island of Santa Cruz. The atmosphere is quite and pleasant. The food is totally out of this world! I had the sesame crusted tuna steak, served with fresh vegetables and plantains. All for just $15. Oh my goodness! Melt in your mouth good. Our server, Diego, was extremely helpful and attentive.... We came with our guide as part of our stay at the Galapagos Safari Camp. After a morning of walking to Tortuga Bay, swimming, kayaking and walking back, we were ready for a break and lunch. We were taken to La Garrapata and our guide promised us great food and great service - he was right! We all had the... More

We recently visited La Garrapata whilst staying in Pueto Ayora for a week. We first went there just for drinks, but the service was so good we decided to go back for dinner. The ceviche was excellent, as were the prawns in coconut sauce. It also seemed much cooler than many other restaurants in town, which made it very comfortable... More

We ate here for a friend's birthday. Our waiter, Oswaldo, was warm and incredibly attentive to our needs. The food was our best meal in Puerto Ayora, and they even brought out a piece of chocolate cake and sang to our friend. Highly recommended!

Went there for dinner the second night of our one week stay. We arrived 5:30 pm when there was plenty of seating available; by 6:15 pm the restaurant was full. Apparently there is only one English speaking waiter in the restaurant, and it took a while for him to take our order. The potato soup with avocado and egg was... More

We dined at La Garrapata in the Galapagos two evenings in a row and also recommended it to other travellers we met.The first evening we had the grilled shrimp and the quinoa and vegetables and the second evening we enjoyed the lobster with garlic and rosemary and the grilled fish.
