... and good cold beer. Personally I like the food, especially Indonesian food more spicy. But they don't even have chilli padi. Anyways a nice place

We stumbled across this place having rejected a number of others en route. We were not disappointed. A nice mie goreng ayam and a reasonable satay. Above all there was cold Bintang! A relaxed backpacker atmosphere, nevertheless very suitable to the over-travelled older generation as well.

My girlfriend and I went there twice and had some fruit juices, vegetable curry, fried rice and tomato soup. The food was really good and in really nice and the portions were sizable as well. Besides that, the staff there was super friendly and helped us with suggestions for the next couple days and even went as far as helping... More

Food was nice, but it took some additional pisang gorengs (fried bananas) to fill me up. Service was a bit slow, but that is quite normal here.

Honestly if you are vegan and are struggling for food in this area then hit up this restaurant and have the tempeh sandwich! It was so good! Marinated and between two quality slices of bread with a salad and potato wedges. They have other veg options and the staff are very nice and enjoyed the art on display.

I really don't understand how this place is rated so highly. This was officially the worst meal I have had on my travels. We were a group of 8 and we all found our food was disgusting. We also went for a variety of dishes, from pizza to Indonesian food. I had gado gado, which I had lived from my... More

Chilled out, good music and friendly open-minded people always up for a chat - just a great vibe. A trendy and down to earth location where you can find locals to get some advice on what do do in the area or how to do something best. Check it out and get in the groove of enjoying life... Even embraced... More

Very chilled out, cosy bar with awesome staff. Great music, the owner and friends are playing guitar and singing themselves and you're free to join in if you want. Beer is tasty and cheap :)

The vibe here is relaxed (hence the two points) but maybe the staff is a bit too relaxed: at least they have no clue how to bake pancakes or deal with complaints about it. The pineapple pancake I got served was not done, and had fluid dough inside. They told me they would bake the pancake longer after I complained.... More

Cosy restaurant on one of the main roads in Bukittinggi. Good steaks (grilled tenderloin, tamarind special), stir fried beef and Mexican food like Burittos. Nice for a change after many days of rice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fortunately, they also served beer unlike several other restaurants and bars (!) in the neighbourhood.
