Tip top restaurant serves local and colonial foods. It 's very famous and has its own website. I had the ox tongue steak with potatoes and salad for 74,000 Rp. Gadogado for 19,000 Rp. Pan cake Pisang for 23,000 Rp. It opens from 08:00 am. to 11:00 PM.

In my youth, this resto is a must visit when in Medan. I long for its ice cream. However, the nostalgic memory seems to break due to last experience. I ordered risol, kroket, husarenzla salad - all are disappointing. We waited too long for such substandard taste. I hoped that the ice cream will make up my disappointment, but the... More

I came to Tip Top twice and had very pleasant experiences. The first one was for lunch (we had morning glory, keetiaw goreng and Curry mutton - all good), the second for ice cream (corn flavor, yum!). In both occasions I had no issues finding a seat and staff was extremely nice and did their best to accommodate us despite... More

Always love their traditional cake or known as jadul (jaman dulu = old age). The cake itself smells really good because of the way they cooked it. A decent hang out place to catch up with friends over snacks whenever I back in town.

The Tip Top restaurant was the oldest restaurant and cake shop which existing remain in Medan. Located in the old downtown of Medan with Dutch architect style.

I could not resist the temptation to sit down and have a cool drink just like so many years ago accompanied by my parents.

Tip Top is a legend in Medan. It was built in 1934, famous for its Dutch inspired menu like: bitterballen, steak, huzarensla. I ordered the beef steak, it was very tasty. I liked it. Tip top is famous for its olden day style Ice cream and cakes. You should try their Java Mocha and Moorkop Ice cream. Service is quick... More

Good place to see old Medan. Service was excellent, food tasty. They have live music many nights, we heard just a bit of it as we had to head out. Bakery stuff was disappointing, but otherwise great spot.
