This kind of restaurant is the place that all Taiwanese know. Its kinda a part of our daily life. You can have breakfast and second dinner here. Lailai is one of my favorites, great taste of soy milk(some foreigners might not like it), nice beef noodles and so many delicious tranditional Taiwan food.

Great place to visit for Taiwanese food, especially for breakfast. Food is prepared while you wait in line. My husband ordered fresh warm soymilk, fried donuts, green onion pancake, egg with green onions, and a beef roll. Cheap meal for $5 USD. On a separate occasion, my husband ordered dumplings and he liked them. Meal was carb heavy and portions... More

Fried foods too cold and hard. Soy milk can drink, smell good and 湯包 is cold and easy broken. The skin is think but not feel it not fresh.

It's great for breakfast, lunch, or at 3am when you're randomly hungry. 24 hours of amazingness. The beef noodle soup is the best I've had anywhere in Taiwan. Their rolled beef and scallion pancake is amazing. The cong you bing is great too. Literally everything I've had here, I've enjoyed. I've been many times, and will keep going. Sometimes there's... A place with all Taiwanese comfort food. It has good soya milk, great shao ping (chives in crispy pancake), deeo fried carrot cake, minced beef in crispy crusty batter, fried dumplings, xiao long bao.... etc... you will not regret coming here. Everything under one roof.... Reasonably priced in a cosy local eatery. ..

Our female driver came to pick us up at 9 am and brought us for breakfast at Lai Lai Soya Bean Curd Shop. She recommended this delightful eatery as it is very popular with the locals. You need to order, pay and collect the food at the counter. We had soya bean milk, you tiaos, dim sums, fried eggs stuffed... More

For those that are used to sweet soya bean drink...the salty version at Lai Lai will be an interesting option. Once the initial adjustment period is over, you will enjoy the salty version. It has the consistency of "chawen musi" - Japanese steamed egg. Light and with you tiao (fried flour fritter), the salty dish is a definite must try.... More

This is the Taichung branch of the Taipei Chain LaiLai Doujiang. The chain has been around I guess for probably close to 40 years. For Taiwanese this is equivalent to an american IHOP, or Denny's. You can get breakfast here 24/7. The food certainly can't be good for you, but for me Lai Lai is the pinnacle of Taiwanese comfort... More
