I'm sure at night the place is hopping, but during the early afternoon, the decrepit doors and ripped upholstry, along with a very large underemployed/bored staff give the place a seedy feel. The location is great, looks like a great performance venue but, clean it up!

Via via is a nice place in Arusha where you can have a relaxed drink in between a green and cosy area. The food is good, the stuff very friendly. Furthermore there are a lot of offers as weekly cinema, cooking or painting classes or weekly parties. The handcraft market is also very recommendable. Great place!

Quite popular with local expatriates. Funky, cool outdoor environment by the regional museum which is also definitely worth a trip. Traditional dancing on many weekends.

This was one of our best experiences. Mama Caroline came to our hotel and took us on a local bus to the main market in the city. We bought spices, fruit, beef, and rice. Then she took us to her home where we cooked ugali, a meat stew, which we ate with the fresh fruit we bought. Our host and... More

A nice place to eat during the day, but also it aparently doubles as a night club... I don't know how, but it does. Never been at night but the day time ambiance is very nice.

So close, but still not there is probably the best way to summarize Via Via. With a decent atmosphere, ok food and not too bad club nights it's worth your time if you're in Arusha for a while, but not if you only have a handful of evenings to spend. I've got to give it to the management though, they... More

A place to party in Arusha town on a thursday. Only one adress: via via. Go total loss on music that is running behind. Locals, expats, professional dancers, some less professional dancers. Everything is possible over here. When they run out of baridi (cold) beers you switch to cocktails. Nice atmosphere. Be aware of picpockets.

I had the Swahili lunch it was very nice and very cheap at $3 USD suits vegetarians. Rest of the menu looked very good too a wide choice of meals.. Wandered through the artists market afterwards and picked up some artwork that was much nicer than what I saw in many of the road side tourist stalls.

Thank Michelle V
