We had a great breakfast this am after a 4 Km walk along the beach at Cha Am.The Raya Resort serves excellent coffee and for THB 250 I had a 3 course meal-enough to set me up for a full day of Thai lessons-which were just up the road. The atmosphere is quiet in the early morning and all the... More

My wife and I usually use Raya as a special occasion restaurant. That is not to say it wouldn't be good to eat here all the time, it is just to suggest it is a first class establishment and a cut above many others in the Cha am district. The wine list is spot-on, so is the service but the... More

The restaurant has been praised in recent reviews. I'm a little surprised. The food is good, but not excellent or innovative. The service is average and the restaurant in itself dull. Not really what you expect considering the prices. Ray's is definitely not the best option in town.

The food was OK, albeit expensive. The service was terrible and practically nonexistent. After my initial order I had to flag down a waiter for anything else to eat or drink and even to clear my table of dishes. I would not go back there to eat.

The atmosphere is very nice. It is a bit upper class kind of restaurant. The restaurant kitchen is very comprehensive with offers from all kind of cousins. We sampled the Thai options and we were not very positively impressed. The food was OK but nothing really more. Since this a comparatively expensive restaurant competing to be the number one in Cha... More

Simply the best restaurant in the area. The interior is very nice, the servants is very professional, the seafood is fresh and delightful and the live music sounds very good and professional as well. The context and content of and in dinner with my wife was outstanding. Best Restaurant in the town and area!

Our overall experience was excellent. Starting from the moment the staff welcomes you. There was live music playing in the exterior area with a magnificent voice and a contemporary repertoire, and if you wish to have a more calm moment, there is an inside area of the restaurant. The decoration is inviting in the wooden villa and big terrace with... More

Food is okay but very expensive, especially for Cha'am. This must be by far the most expensive place there for sure. As there is not much else to get a good steak or decent lamb chops we decided to give it a try. Disappointed we left as the steak was overcooked and like the lb chops a lot smaller than... More

If enjoying seafood outdoors is not a choice, Raya is a nice escape from the heat. Although the menu has changed somewhat with a shift to western / international cuisine, Raya has still retained a wide selection of seafood and Thai dishes. We ordered the Thai fruit salad with fresh prawns ( still very tasty but no grapes this time,... More

Having dined or lunched at Raya 4 times during my month's stay at Cha Am I found that we had a slightly different experience each time.....but each was excellent. On our last day we went back for lunch and this time it was packed and customers had to be turned away. Having tried so many Cha Am restaurants I can... More
