The Give Green Farm and Restaurant is my go to place for fresh, organic, and authentic Thai dishes served with genuine warm and welcoming service from the family staff that own and run the restaurant and accompanying farm. Each traditional dish is customizable to fit your dietary restrictions (and spice level!). Much of their ingredients are sourced from their own crops and you can TASTE the freshness. The female owner speaks very good English and her and her husband are a joy to be around. You can tell that they genuinely love what they do! I try to go there at least once a week and always arrive feeling welcomed like an old friend and leave feeling full and looking forward to my next visit. GGFR is located right near the Black House in Ban Du and is a must visit if you are in the area, or are willing to make the drive out from the city for one of the best local and very affordable meals you’ll have while in Chiang Rai!

I'm so surprised that such an amazing place doesn't attract more tourist. The whole concept of farm and local organic products is awesome, so as food and peaceful ambiance there. But we were extra lucky cause chef lady let us in the kitchen and taught us how to cook what we've ordered. I was dreaming about cooking class in SE Asia for so long and it seems that universe heard me. We've ordered Pork Lard Pad Thai, Pad See ew and Papaya salad, Local Coffee with coconut milk and Jasmin tee with milk (we asked for non sugar drinks and I actually regretted that haha) and every single thing was the best I've ever tried! The whole bill was 400 Baht (13$) which I think is unfairly low and that amazing family deserves at least good tips and definitely a visit!

We chose to eat here after going to the Baandam Museum. The food is delicious. You pick up a menu on your way in along with paper and pen to write your order on. You will need lots of time to look through the menu and choose your food. Write your order down and take it to the counter. You can choose your level of spice/chilli. We had crispy pork and morning glory, chicken laarb and sticky rice. This was more than enough for 2 hungry travellers. The lady who owns the restaurant speaks good English. When she heard us practising our Thai language skills (we are learning to speak Thai) she spent 10 minutes with us helping with tones, and taught us a few Northern Thai words. We sat next to the pond and had a very relaxing lunch. Lunch plus 2 fruit smoothies cost us under TB300

We visited here after the Bandaam Museum as it's just round the corner. The owners/staff were so friendly and helpful, the menu is really large & their is options for everyone - they understood vegan for us - and the food is super tasty. The prices are also really reasonable - go here & support local!

One of the standout features of this restaurant is that every item on the menu is full customisable regarding protein, spice level, how you’d prefer it cooked and side dish. Nearly all of the vegetables are grown organically on the farm and they make as much as they can with local produce. The owner was so lovely and came to explain the menu to us and made sure that we were looked after well. She was attentive, passionate and so friendly! My partner got the Khao-soi with pork and yellow egg noodles. He said it was incredibly tasty and that the spice level was perfect! I had the yellow curry with vegetables and it was very simple but fresh and cooked perfectly! I also had the papaya salad which was tangy and again, so so fresh and crisp! The atmosphere in the restaurant is very laid back and ambient. We will definitely come back and highly recommend! Fresh food, excellent service and relaxed atmosphere is the short way to describe Give Green Farm House!

Give Green Farm is a MUST! If you are heading to the Black House, it's just a 1 minute walk down the lane and you will be blown away by the friendly staff, beautiful scenery and delicious food. The menu is an outline of what they can offer and you just pick exactly what you like to eat, they'll make it for you fresh. A gorgeous family-run establishment with lots of charm and has made a real impact on our experience of Chiang Rai. Much love to the family!

Best kitchen I tried so far !!! Amazing place and lovely family. The owner is very kind, she explained us many things about the dishes, the way she cook, the way to eat it in their tradition. We could ask to change any ingredients if we have allergens, or any particular demands. Always smiling, and very funny. Also she speaks English very well. Clear and clean water, tasty food, all home made with many things from her garden. Best experience I had so far in a restaurant in Thailand Thank you !!

The best place in Chiang Rai. Not only the owner cooks accordingly to your preferences but they also use everything from their own garden and it is organic. I would love to have such restaurants in other cities, too. Amazing food and a very nice owner. Also great prices and great choice for everyone including vegetarians and vegans.

I ate at this wonderful restaurant four nights in a row during my stay in Chiang Rai. Situated in a beautiful, tranquil setting, overlooking a pond, with natural surrounds, yet only a stones throw away from the …. Museum. Gan (owner) and her sister Dao and their beautiful family have created an organic and authentic Thai culinary experience you’ll never forget. With over 90% all their fresh food picked daily straight from their organic garden. The other 10% sourced locally within your community. Also an abundance of vegetarian and vegan options . On top of all that, they are the most warm, kind-hearted, welcome people, who want to cater for you, your taste, preferences and potential intolerances or allergies. 6* out of 5 for me. A must visit whilst you’re in beautiful Chiang Rai.

Operated by a local group that is committed to organic farming, this humble open air restaurant features the freshest produce that you could hope to find (often picked after you have placed your order), based on excellent central Thai home cooking. The manager/server/beverage maker is happy to chat with you (in Thai) about organic farming, healthy food, cooking, and the locality. Her mother might be weeding the cabbage. This is a very convenient place to combine a meal with a visit to the Baan Dam Museum of Thawan Duchanee, just up the road.

Words cannot express how fresh, delicious, mind-glowingly complex and yet organically simple the food was at Give Green Farm House. The owner and her niece were gracious, hospitable and made the outdoor experience beyond words. My wife even teared up from it all. If there were a rating beyond 5, this is the place to bestow it.

Went for lunch following a visit to the Black House museum with husband and 2 kids (one of which is very fussy and the other is vegetarian). We had a mix of dishes: whole steamed fish; eggplant salad; cucumber salad (v spicy); green tofu curry; steamed pork; rice and boiled eggs for the little fussy one. Everything was amazing. Biggest issue was choosing from the vast menu. Flavour and quality of produce excellent. Don't be in a rush, it's a family affair so food comes out as and when, but it really is worth it. Inexpensive and so far the best food we've had in Thailand. We paid a little under 850THB excluding the tip for all the above plus 4 beers and 4 fresh juices.

This was certainly one of the top three restaurants we ate in during our two month trip in South East Asia. The owner, Biu, knows about good food and organic farming. She is just wonderful and they will cook the food the way you like it. You can choose how spicy AND how sweet you like your meal. One of our starters was a green salad, and she picked the leaves and herbs from her organic garden right in front of us. The produce they use is fresh, natural and organic. They cooperate with other organic farmers in the area who supply their restaurants with the ingredients they do not farm themselves, like for example organic pork, eggs, etc. This place is run by wonderful people who care about great taste and the environment. It is truly exceptional. It is so good we went there twice during our three days in Chiang Rai, even though our hotel was a 20 min taxi ride away. Thank you, Biu. Your restaurant is exceptional.

An amazing place which manages to balance authentic Northern Thai cuisine with remaining sensitive and diligent about concerns specifically western, such as offering options which are vegetarian, gluten free, organic, SUGAR FREE and so on. Tourism typically has a devastating effect on lovely places and local cuisine. Usually accommodating western wishes means that the food is no longer authentic or even interesting, as has happened to Koh Samui or Bangkok, where no authentic thai cuisine even exists any longer. Furthermore, Mahayana Buddhists suffer from not finding food anywhere in Thailand which is vegetarian AND garlic/onion free. These concerns are also catered to here. All of that said, the customer base is roughly half Thai and half western, and the food selection range is wide. Really nice, attentive owner and staff. Food is delicious! Carrot juice was unsweetened and acceptable on first visit, then outstanding on 3rd visit.

This totally unassuming restaurant is just a gem of a place to have enjoyed not just the cuisine, but the whole ambience of the place just oooozes peace and tranquillity as you enjoy your freshly prepared and cooked meal.. Its location is just mins away from the Black House visitor location.. Your guide or driver will definitely know of it.. If you aren't visiting that location and you're nearby feeling hungry, I HIGHLY recommend that a detour to find this restaurant is a very good idea.. We ate the Khoy Soi dish.. 1 x chicken. 1x pork.. Both dishes were just amazing in terms of quality of ingredients and tastes... Look around you as you wait for your order to be cooked, and you will see many greens being grown to help sustain this business.. Just a wonderful experience all round...
