Not a flash restaurant, but a very nice cafe. The burmese curry and massaman curry both recommended. Great value too.

The food I had here was good (red curry with chicken), the shakes I had were amazing (pineapple & mango) and the owner was so friendly and accommodating, I really had a hard time leaving. I would have liked to spend more time there, it's just a very laid back vibe. Definitely check it out if you're along the main... More

Came here upon looking on TripAdvisor. We were not very impressed with the food to be honest. But we were there anyway. Food was simple, nothing special. They have a shelf of books for you to read or gather some information on Kanchanaburi if you need.

We were in need of hamburgers and fries and were pleased with our orders. The burger was well seasoned; cukes, tomatoes & lettuce were fresh and even the bin was delicious! Two burgers & fries, a large Chang beer, a fruit shake & water came to less than $10 US. If you need reading material, they have a large selection... More

Cold beans on toast, artificial juice, terrible coffee. Not recommended for breakfast. Perhaps the Thai food is better, hence other good reviews.

The food was fine & inexpensive so if that's all you're really looking for, go! The woman working was extremely unfriendly. She never even spoke a word to me (no smile or greeting or even a grunt of acknowledgement) until it came time to pay. She then just said the number of my total to pay, I handed her the... More

There are 2 Mangosteen here, 1 is Cafe and bookshop, another is Garden Restaurant, both you can found in Tripadvisor. Those reviewer with blue rice or garden place wrong review here. Is surprising me when I didn't see blue rice in the menu. When double checked, found the above true. Their fried rice and pad see ew are very delicious.... More

The restaurant has either moved or opened a second branch - the owner said they had moved - and is now on the south bank of the river. We chanced upon this restaurant for dinner and found it sitting in a beautiful garden - my sober brother in law was moved to call it "magical". The delightful owner runs this... More

I visited once for lunch and had a delicious soup! However, I visited a second time in the evening and had a disappointing curry which took around 40 minutes to come out! There's a very good selection of books and the food is fairly priced.

Good clean food, pick up a book if in need or organise a trip / transport. Good English is spoken and they were very helpful.
