Simple yet terrific lunch in this quaint mountain top winery. Lovely wine cellar with some terrific wines. Staff is very friendly and took the time to explain food and wine offerings. Can't wait to return! Restaurant open for lunch on weekends only apparently, but great stop when doing a Hudson Valley wine tour. Be sure to make this a food... More

We stopped in on an off-season Saturday to taste some wine. Not only were we delighted by the wine and our hostess, the tasting was free! We even got to try some local wines from another vineyard. We were also offered cheese, mustard, and jam to try. We ended up buying a bottle of traminette though there were several that... More

We traveled off Route 22 a few miles to the Cascade Mountain Winery, which is now only open on weekends. We sampled and purchased some nice wines, and enjoyed a great meal on the deck, cooked by proprietor Charlie Wetmore, a very personable sommelier. Check it out.

Have been hitting all of the winery tastings in the area this winter and found this to be near the top of the list. A nice assortment of wines and a pleasant hostess. Reasonable prices by the bottle and the jams and mustard should not be overlooked.

Let me start by saying that we met representatives from the winery at the Altamont Apple and Wine Fest a few weeks ago. They were great...gave us a brochure and told us to come down from where we live (Saratoga, NY) for lunch and a wine tasting. We were really looking forward to getting there. On Thursday 10/10/13 I called... More

The lunch was expensive, the buffet was awful, and I got food poisoning after I got home. Not worth the visit.

Description
Cascade Mountain was the first farm winery on the east side of the Hudson River. We planted the vineyard in 1972 and opened the winery in 1977. Nestled atop the foothills to the Berkshire Mountains, we are a family winery and have been making award winning wines for 38 years. We are a destination where you can relax and enjoy a tasting of our wines followed by a leisurely lunch in our dining room, or on the deck.
