About
The restaurant takes its name from the morning glory vegetable, which, after rice, is the most commonly eaten food in Vietnam. One of the more appealing aspects of this edible plant is its resilience. It can grow in any kind of climate and from soil, mud or waterways. Its durable and flexible nature makes it symbolic in the eyes of Ms Vy, who views it as a representation of the Vietnamese character. It can survive, even thrive, in the harshest of conditions; growing into a beautiful green vegetable with a white starflower.

Got a recommendation from our driver that pick us up in Da Nang..Although there are many choices in Hoi An this restaurant delivered everything and more.. Good service, location, prices, and outstanding food ..We have eaten all over Asia but you couldn’t have gotten better...or fresher food anywhere more than this restaurant..There baguettes for their sandwiches couldn’t have been better.. Great friendly staff as well.. 👍👍👍More

Visited Morning Glory with my wife and teenage son. The ambience is amazing. Food is cooked in an oval ‘kitchen’ immediately in front of the entrance in the ground floor so diners downstairs can witness the full on hustle and bustle of an extremely busy...kitchen along with all the sounds and aromas that go with it. We actually sat upstairs as it was a little cooler (and quieter) but the surroundings are no less pleasant. Very French colonial. My wife and I ordered sautéed prawns in coconut. The menu explains that the dish is served in the whole shell of a young coconut with the flesh still present but we still couldn’t fail to be impressed when our meals arrived. There were a good number of large prawns in the dish and the whole was full of flavour. Our son has the grilled pork belly with The pork was, as is not unusual with pork belly, rather fatty (but this is what carries the flavour) but the meat was delicious and the sauce a perfect compliment. We all shared a dish of ‘roll your own’ pork spring rolls which came with a rice paper wrap, rice flour roll, lettuce, unripened banana and a satay style dip, along with a plate of ‘regular’ rice flour spring rolls and stir fried morning glory. Gorgeous. Absolutely not the cheapest restaurant in Hoi An, I felt the beer was a little overpriced for the area at £2.50? for a bottle of Tiger but the overall experience with the quality of the meal makes it very much worth the price and it’s still massively cheaper than the U.K. Three of us ate as above with just the one desert (slightly mashed frozen banana with coconut cream poured over) with 2 beers, 2 juices and an iced lemon tea for around £40.00.More

We had a lovely meal at Morning Glory. Nice atmosphere on the balcony upstairs. There is loads of options on the menu and you can try a few small dishes or get something bigger (the Vietnamese Curry was delicious). We were served by Lê who...was really helpful and helped us perfect some of our Vietnamese words.More

We visited a couple of the Morning Glory restaurants whilst staying in Hoi An. Both have similar menu of local specialty dishes and everything we tried was delicious, very good, efficient service. If you keep your bill you can get 10% off your next visit,...but food very reasonably priced anyway.More

Went to Morning Glory Restaurant while holidaying in Hoi An Vietnam as we read some good reviews of the restaurant. And its so true, the restaurant is very clean, the food was super yummy, and the ambiance superb. TTam the lady who served us was...super friendly and patiently explain and recommended all the food and drinks that were super tasty. The chef also explained how we should put the food together and which sauce to dip for which food. Overall experience 5 out of 5 stars for Morning Glory Restaurant, a must go place for lunch or dinner ... will definitely go again on our next trip to Hoi An. Thank you Morning Glory Restaurant :)More

We walked past this place bustling with people, which we took as a good sign and got the cheery Khanh who attended us. A cool concept where you can choose from multiple dining options and Khanh went out of his way to recommend menu items...and helped customise a veg Vietnamese curry just for us. Got to try my first Banh Mi in Vietnam with Tofu and it did not make me miss meat! Definitely worth exploring and if you're in, definitely ask for Khanh!!!More
