After backpacking and eating the cheapest dishes we could find for the past couple months, my partner and I decided to “splurge” a little and get something we both really wanted. I ordered curried duck and he ordered grilled squid marinated in a ginger lemon sauce. Both dishes were 120k each , but were worth it, entirely. The food was delicious. It had just the right amount of all the flavours and textures that I didn’t realize I had been missing so much. The rice was included and we also had a delicious free coconut ice cream after (maybe this is a promotion? It was not advertised as such ). The ice cream was also very very delicious. I plan to go back for lunch tomorrow.

We were in Hoi An for a couple of weeks and ate at Bao Han daily, trying almost every dish on the menu. ALL were tasty, expertly prepared, and enjoyable. There is a real chef, with a full array of spices, in the kitchen! After our first visit (lunch) we were hooked. The owner understands the importance of repeat business and the role of great food in her business. I strongly recommend Bao Han. It is also priced better than most of the rest of the restaurants that cater to the occasional visitor that will likely not return.

This is a true gem with good food and wonderful service. But even if the food is good enough for a top rating there is something that is even better. All the profit from the restaurang goes to charity, Ms Phi runs the organisation People helping People, and collects money to help the poor Vietnamese people in the mountains with food, blankets and help for education. So please spend as much money as you can in this restaurant, you get good food, wine and drinks if you want - and you help people that are in need.

The lady owner has been talking to us all week as we walked past, “if you don’t like, you don’t pay”. Other hotel guests said it was good so we gave it a try. Chile white wine was good. We enjoyed the chicken, veges & cashews and a prawn curry with rice. Complimentary ice cream to finish. Food was quite tasty and a little different from the many other places we have eaten. 300 dong! Lovely group of ladies running the floor and the restaurant does good work supporting the community.

We were in hoi an in February /March. And visited Bao Han on several occasions. The food was excellent, and all of the staff were friendly, and very helpful. Phi the owner treated everyone like family members. She operates a no like no pay policy, but I never saw anyone not pay. When you order a meal your rice is free, and free fruit or coconut icecream afterwards.. If you visit Cua Dai a visit to Phi has to be on the agenda

My wife and I and our 2 friends were staying in Hoi An for 1 week as part of our tour of Vietnam . We ate in this restaurant 3 times because the staff were so lovely and the food fantastic . We took the recommendations of the owner , Phi , who guided us through the menu and helped us choose some fantastic seafood . Will remember this place for a very long time . Highly recommended. A truly excellent resteraunt. The range of food will keep everyone happy, (local dishes to pizzas). The service could not be better, nothing is too much trouble. The manageress/ co owner is Vietnamese charm & hospitality personified.

Yesterday we decided to try this place for a third time. Previous ones were just O.K. at best and we thought that it was just a fluke. Not so ! The General Tao was floating in a dark sauce covered with big pieces of mostly raw onions and the peanut dumplings were served as if they had opened a jar of PB and just spread a thick layer on the dumplings. It sat there with the consistency of gelatin. We did not finish any of it. The crispy noodles (way too much liquid) were fine as were the egg rolls although cold. For $50 bucks we could have had much better fast food. Anyway, you live and learn but we really do not recommend the food...

This was a repeat visit to enjoy a Birthday dinner with friends & Phi impressed them with her friendly service and good food. As the Covid virus has affected the numbers visiting Hoi an Phi has scaled her vast menu to ensure that everything she serves is fresh. There were many choices but one winner was the roast duck in Orange sauce.

Weaving our scooter from the beach we arrived Bao Han for sunset dinner. Nestled along a small street busy with scooters, Bao Han is hard to miss with its lanterns, green LED lights, and fake-grass floor covering. We enjoyed papaya salad, vegetable noodles, mushroom clay pot, with two local beers. The food was excellent and the service was prompt, friendly, and welcoming. Menu had menu options including vegetarian dishes. Highly recommend.

Sometimes it's better to read the bad reviews and take note. Firstly the food was ok. The bad bits. We found the hostess too abrupt / in your face. Secondly, a woman whom seemingly worked there as a waitress (claimed she didn't then cleared out table?) gave us the hard sell (hugely overpriced) for here products, and then rested her tray of stuff on our table. But worst of is the old calculator trick is still a favoured method for the bill. No bill will be presented, just a few taps on the calculator and the screen displayed showing what is owed. I worked it out later on, and yes, we were ripped off. This is a planned rip off by the owner - just search 'calculator' and you will see that this is the consistent method used to overcharge!

BEST papaya salad in Hoi An. So addicting we came back three times. Huge portion. Great Hoi An/Vietnamese dishes as well, and if you're looking for some Western comfort the pizza is nice and crisp. The lady who manages the restaurant is so kind, and gave us free fruit each time we returned! Definitely recommend - just a stone's throw from Cua Dai beachfront.

We've been here for 10 days and have 4 more days to go. Ran into this restaurant around the corner from our hotel 9 days ago and we've been eating here nearly every day since then. We've tried about a dozen different items on the menu and every single dish has been super. My favorites, which I've ordered more than once, include the seafood noodles (fresh seafood and perfectly textured noodles with just the right amount of spices), chicken with chili and lemongrass, and papaya salad. The chef is obviously not afraid to use his/her full imagination and fresh spices. We love it! Phi, the owner, is a friendly and kind of witty woman. She seems a bit cool at first but she has a dry sense of humor and seems to really care how her guests enjoy the food at her place. It's located on the main road to Hoi An center from the beach. If you are staying at or near Koi Resort, Hoi An Beach Resort, or Victoria Resort, give this place a try. You will love the sensation of the fresh ingredients done in bold spices with excellent imagination.

This restaurant is located in the Cua Dai area of Hoi An close to the sea. The menu is traditional Vietnamese food and the seafood dishes are exceptionally good. Also the clay pot dishes to are very good as well. The prices are very reasonable and for the level of quality much cheaper than in the town of Hoi An. The owner and the staff are all very helpful and the restaurant has a good ambient atmosphere. If you are staying in Cua Dai this is a place you must visit and you will find you will keep going back to try more of these tasty dishes.

The food of Phi and her family amazes us with freshness, flavours and quality. Grilled squid with BBQ sauce, grilled king prawns and signature Cao Lao (a noodle dish) are unforgettable and uncomparable by other restaurants. The restaurant is very clean and pleasant. Cards are accepted. Selection of drinks are nice and wide. A "must go" for any one who spends more than a day in Hoi An.
