The restaurant is huge, beautiful and the plates are all really tasty. it is really expensive but worth it and very classy. The waiters were nice but it was a bit slow.

In the Iconic beautiful, yet extremely dated and a little beat up, old hotel is the Fujiya classical french restaurant. While it hurt me to 'waste' a dinner in Japan for a french meal, it was a special occasion so decided to try it out. Staff, as mostly everywhere in Japan in general were extremely courteous and attentive. We has... More

We were staying at the Fujiya so we decided to eat in the restaurant on one evening. We had booked with reception so were shown to the table immediately. We loved the style and ambience of the restaurant. For starters we chose the duck confit and the starter medley. The duck was flavoursome but usually confit is very well cooked... More

We had a group lunch at this lovely old hotel and the food was delicious. The onion soup was really good and on a coolish day it drove the shivers away. The dining room is big and luxurious with samples of the silverware and cutlery on display. The garden setting, as with most Japanese eating places, was very nice and... More

We went to the Fujiya Hotel to have lunch. We are very much interested in archetecture so this was a great place to visit. We all had the most popular dish, Beef Curry. It was great. Great coffee as well. Staff was well trained. I was surprised and relieved when I saw many family with young kids in the dining... More

The menu was written in French and Japanese for adults and there was a child's menu in Japanese. The service by the staff was faultless and the table arrangements were impeccable. All courses were beautifully presented and very delicious. As befitting the five course meal the portion sizes were not huge. The slice of roast beef was presented as requested-... More

We travelled as a couple and stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. This is a very rich in history and heritage hotel. Every nook and cranny smells of a heritage that reveals The Fujiya's grandiose moments in the past. Comfort is fine(bedsheets and the room are clean), scenery outside the room(we stayed in forest lodge) is good too. Service... More

We (four adults, two kids: 4yo, 2yo) enjoyed a relaxing breakfast with nice service. The dining room is gorgeous, wonderful wooden carved detail. Be sure to take a stroll through the lovely gardens after you enjoy your meal!

Restaurant itself is like entering a museum with beautiful woods and a nice view. It's so beautiful, I felt like I was in different time and yet feel luxurious.

Steeped in history this is a majestic place to stay. Service was amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Your bath fills with natural spring water so you can spa in your room. Food is expensive so best eat elsewhere. Very central to buses and trains.
