Was recommended to stop for a few beers and a Sunday roast....didn't disappoint. Nozomi looked out for us and made sure our pints were full. Been back since then and Nozomi remembered our names...greeted us with cold beers at the end of a long day...More

Hi from owner (John), First, I'm sorry you feel that way. I believe nothing has changed over all these years. We do charge for mineral water, where the customer actually gets the bottle on the table. We of course give tap water free as a...More

The Tavern is set below ground and not too salubrious. However, the sparsity of bars in Yokohama allows the Tavern to make the list. The toilets have seen better days, as had the barman / owner. A colleague had mentioned this as a good place...More

Make the trip and take the stairs! The first night I tried The Tavern I listened to The Tide is High by Blondie whilst drinking Belhaven Brewery Twisted Thistle IPA. I made friends with the locals and while we did not really understand anything the...More

Visited this evening, Wednesday, for happy hour drinks and dinner. Was not at all crowded. Funny that no one was British working in a British pub. Had fish bites, chicken and edamame. All were tasty pub food. Happy hour beers was cold and good. Several...More

Thanks very much for your review. Yuki is very nice yes. We tend to get busy from around 8pm, when other staff and I (British btw) show up. Hope to catch you next time! Cheers

The owner of the pub (if I hadn't had to much fun I'd remember) makes the place. Mount and charming and keeps the drinks flowing. Met my buddy there for Super Bowl. Not crowded but a good crowd, mostly Americans, who share friendly jibes (sorry...More

We stopped in to check it out while in Yokohama. Like a little Oasis. footy playing on the big screen and very friendly staff. Beers were cold and the menu was a nice break from all the traditional Japanese we have been scoffing! Definitely worth...More

I've always enjoyed my time here. The atmosphere here is relaxed and comfortable and set up where you can enjoy a pint and talk with people sitting around the bar. It's definitely a must for people living in Yokohama or if you're just visiting.

The Tavern has been open in Yokohama since 1985 and was the first British pub in the region. Popular with Japanese and foreigners, male and female, it's a great place for the lonely traveller. Meet new friends - there are regulars from all over the world! Rugby and Football often shown on the big screen, but not a sports bar. Big international selection of food and drink, with seven beers on tap and a range of cocktails. Lunches (except Mondays) and alongside our usual menu we offer French style three course dinners Tuesdays to Saturdays. Try the Sunday Roast (Beef and/or Lamb) with Yorkshire pudding. We have smoking and non-smoking areas, password-free Wi-Fi, table service, and take major credit cards.
