Family run restaurant with udon made fresh in view throughout the day. I had udon with fried tofu. Best I've had to date and budget friendly! Highly recommend.

This little restaurant is always crowded but it was definitely worth the wait! The short menu offers a variety of homemade udon (with a couple of vegan option!), so tasty you'll be eating everything despite the initial struggle with chopsticks :)

If you are going to visit Himeji Castle in Himeji, Japan, make sure to stop by this amazing udon place. The name is actually Memme, not Menme. It is an unassuming restaurant on the walk up to Himeji Castle. The udon noodles were perfect. My...More

My family really enjoyed our meal at Menme. It is a family run business. Service was quick, polite and efficient. Loved seeing the person make the udon from scratch. It was the best bowl of udon I have ever had!

The place was closed. Business hours are wrong. We came at 16:50 and the place was just closed. No additional information.

We were very lucky to chance upon this place after visiting himeji castle. It was after lunch hours and therefore not very crowded. Service is good but most importantly the food is really good. Many ways to cook udon and it is good regardless. So...More

This restaurant is on the walk back from Hemiji castle to the station so is well worth popping in on the way there or back for some lunch. You can see the chef making the udon noodles and they are served hot or cold in...More

There’s a reason why they are number one in the whole of Himeji. Home-made udon and super genuine hospitality. This is the first time in reviewing a restaurant immediately after stepping out of it. Here’s wishing the shop owner and his wife good health and...More

I usually am not a huge fan of udon but this place has changed my views on it. You can watch the chef make fresh noodles through one of the windows. Once my bowl of udon came out, I couldn’t stop eating it. It was...More

In fact they have a very short menu. Just a dozen of different udons. But it is worth trying, they are delicious, and not expensive at all. But I'd you are looking for a full substantial meal, may this restaurant not be the best choice.

Kanazawa is almost 4 hours away from Himeji by train. Do NOT go to Kanazawa for dinner unless you are IN Kanazawa.
