Dropped by for an early lunch on a Sunday with a couple of friends. We ordered a fish-head curry, fried kailan, crunchy calamari fried with salted egg and chillies, otah-otah and fried mee hoon (their version of 'mee fen san low' which they are well-known for). Overall, it was a very satisfying meal - portions were adequate and each dish... More

Was there for their famous dry mee hoon and it was good! Other food was delicious too! The shop opens at 12 and we were there at 1230 but the fried tofu was sold out! Didn't get to try.

Before you even think of going to the so called Historical Ah Kaw Restaurant at Taman Pelangi please be cautious. I was at the restaurant for having my meal. I notice that thier menu do not have any price. To play safe i told my friends to order only the fried noodles and some side dishes. We were worried that... More

Johor Bahru has a unique style of fried bee hoon call San Low Bee Hoon, and you can find the best San Low Bee Hoon here. It is fried to dry, but not too dry to swallow. When serve, the aroma smell will make you even hungrier. You should not miss their wattan hor fun too when visit. The hor... More

Read about the reviews of this zhi zhar coffeeshop (both positive and negative) and good comments from friends. This actually managed my expectations. The menu spread is limited and a few seafood items are not available - possibly that it was a Monday. The famous beehoon dish is not par at all.

The shop advertised for its signature San Lou Bee Hoon, which is also sold in another restaurant called San Low Seafood Restaurant in Jalan Merah in the same garden. Apparently, the owner of Restoran Ah Kaw was one of the original chefs of this signature dish which is known as San Lou Bee Hoon. The bee hoon was fried semi-dry,... More

Must try the fried dry bee hoon here together with the special sour chilli sauce. Other than bee hoon, try the fish head curry and also homemade toufu. There rest are pretty average.
