We were disappointed with the quality of the steak. It was tasteless and dry for a medium done. It was overlooked. This restaurant is in a 5 star hotel and is expensive for what you get. Service was average and did not impress. Altogether a sad experience for our night out in KK. The food did not look like anything... More

Ate at this restaurant after reading review. Ordered rib-eye steak medium. Served fully done. When asked to replace to correct doneness, the replacement steak was half medium and half medium rare. Had stomach discomfort after the steak. I am guessing the quality of steak may not be suitable for the doneness.

We had a nice evening at the Flames and a good dinner. The starters were excellent (we had scallops with tofu and a plate with 3 small starters) and cod fish and ribeye steaks as main courses. All dishes have been delicious, 'solid' and nice... The service was professional and good. It was a bit too cold from the aircon,... More

Incredible dining with steaks to rival the best restaurants in the world-we stumbled across this restaurant escaping the rain and could not believe the quality of the food. This chef produces fresh tasty food with a twist and we loved his food . In a town which is dominated by the Shangri La resorts and waterfront restaurants it is easy... More

After having stayed a few times at Le Meridien, Kota KInabalu, Sabah, Malaysia, I decided to try the Flames Restaurant. And what a treat it was for me. It was the most delicious dinner I have ever had. First and foremost, it was a quiet evening as it was the month of Ramadhan and many chose to have their meals... More

We visited the flame restaurant in the hotel as we suffer from food intolerances and were unsure of the local cuisine and were pleasantly surprised by the fantastic service and delicious food. My daughter had linguine and I had the cod with mushrooms, both were excellent. Upon arrival our waitress, Leeza remembered I was allergic to wheat and milk and... More

I went for dinner at Flames on my own, as I was staying at Le Meridien for a business trip. Overall, my dining experience at Flames was very average. The first impression I got from that place was not very good: basically, the restaurant consists of 8 tables in a small area off the lobby lounge; I had to ask... More

My wife and I went here while visiting KK for CNY. Had the aged angus ribeye and she had the Australian ribeye, both came with sauce, roasted potatoes (au gratin without the cheese) and grilled mushrooms. Steaks were ok, not as juicy as big name steakhouses in the US but probably some of the best you will get in Borneo.... More

I also spent NYE at Flames and agree that they were drastically understaffed and therefore service was poor but our food was still very good. I would not return for NYE but i have eaten there on 2 other occasions and really enjoyed the experience. With the exception of NYE we enjoyed good service, good food, lovely atmosphere and very...
