One never expect sure horrible service from a Japanese restaurant, especially those that is operated by a 5 stars hotel, like Hyatt. Menu is rather limited in selection and taste is rather not too bad, but the kitchen need to have sure professionalism and standard operating procedure. The lettuce served in the yasai salad was rotten! Luckily noticed it earlier... More

Kids thought the Teriyaki Chicken was great! Our food was very nice too, and as per the rest of the Hyatt the service was fantastic!

Went here recently to indulge in their latest Japanese Cuisine Promotion, the Sakana Oroshi set. The set consists of 3 choices and we tried all three. The layout of the restaurant is pretty amazing. The interior of this restaurant utilize large amount of dark wood that give diners the feel of dining in Japan. Staffs were attentive, polite and friendly.... More

We stayed at the hotel and was attracted by the Wagyu beef promo. For dinner, we ordered the beef set, sashimi, sushi, udon, garlic rice, sake to share. The sushi & sashimi were reasonably fresh and good, but nothing we have tasted better. The Wagyu beef was cooked teppan-styled with overtly sweet teriyaki sauce that made it disappointingly unpalatable. Our... More

We had anniversary lunch at Nagisa (located at ground floor of Hyatt Regency Kota Kinabalu Hotel). Chef Kenny, an experienced chef cooked for us (tiger prawn, salmon, wangyu beef (halal), mix vegetables, fried rice). Taste good... not like ordinary japanese dishes. Nice ambience, quiet and romantic. Polite waitress and always smiles. Highly recommended.

Get their Nagisa Maki. It's four pieces of really mouthwatering unagi with avocado slices. Gindara Nabe is also a must try, as well as their green tea ice cream. Can't wait to go back soon!

Being in the Hyatt Regency Hotel, one can expect the quality and standards for their dishes. The chef has always been creative with their seasonal menu items, which I am pleased of.

I ordered the Chef's special but it wasn't so special. The rice was too sticky, and the salmon & prawn were overcooked. At the same time, the tempura was so bland that it was utterly tasteless The saving grace seemed to the be matcha ice-cream because it tasted quite good. Unfortunately, the mix of the matcha was quite inconsistent and... More
