I liked the idea of eating arepas, I never have had Venezuelan food and I was eager to try them. The were really good even though I had forgotten my glasses and thus for selected a combo with two arepas and a drink -10$- with out knowing what I really ordered. Before leaving I went to the bathroom to wash... More

This place has the best arepas I have ever had. No matter what flavor you get they are loaded full. One can be enough, two definitely will fill you up. The fries are enough for two people in a single order. They don't deliver but that is probably better as the arepas would get soggy. Eat there and enjoy!

I believe this is a sister restaurant to Arepas Grill, also in Astoria. They certainly share the same lack of internet presence. However, they do have a sincere wish to bring arepas to us hungry people. For those with celiac or gluten sensitivity, be aware that arepas are naturally gluten free. Like most areperas, Arepas Cafe has a signature sauce,... More

The place was packed! The arepas were good and the cachapas delish. Service amicable and pretty fast. Sadly my five yr old needed to go to the bathroom and there it was: dissapointment!!! It was awful!!! Make me want to not be there, eatbor touch anything!!! And I did not after that. It has Zagat ratings from 2012... A lot... More

I was in New York for business, and was walking by the Arepas Cafe. It' s a quaint little restaurant that had most of it's tables full ( always a good sign). Most meals are under $10, and after eating here, it's a steal. Great food, friendly service and a place I'll will certainly frequent when I'm in town. Drop... More

Customer service was great. The arepa is too delicious and the meat very tender. The yuca frita and the green sauce was very good.

Service is terrible. Food is delicious, the arepas are great but the girl server is terrible. I come here more once a week and her service is really disappointing.

My wife and son and I had lunch here. Each of us ordered a different wrap and each one was delicious! We also ordered an appetizer of sweet plantains, and that's where the problem occurred. The appetizer was brought to our table well after the wraps were served, in spite of my asking several times about them. The plantains were... More

Great service in a cozy space. Our server was friendly and helpful in describing the many variations available so we didn't over order. The meat filled arepas are extremely generous portions, but delicious, as were the vege selections. It's popular but there seemed to be space for everyone who came at lunchtime when we were there.
